There is alot of teams looking for a first or second line center Staal would be a perfect fit for. In the case of a team like Edmonton, unless I get a guarantee he will sign beyond next season no way do I take a chance.

I think Staal value increases on July 1 when he can be signed so he won't be traded for at the draft(if he gets traded at all)

Actually he does use his size very well, and does get to the traffic areas, when he has confidence. Given the fact that he has zero confidence right now with the blues, it's easy to look at him and say he isn't a power forward. But his time in Colorado proved otherwise, he looked dominant, was the best player on the ice at times and just over powered other defenders. Is he good at creating off the rush? Absolutely, but that doesn't mean he isn't a power forward. He's a lazy guy, I'll admit, and that won't fly with Hitchcock but I have a feeling if he was on a team with an offense-first system that he would thrive
