Depth

The problem with this team is that we were in a small rebuild mode and none wanted to admit it

We have a strong core but lost a lot of tremendous depth players for prospects and picks, and replaced them with cap friendly sub par players

The biggest "FIX" for this team will come when those prospects are really

To replace that 3-4 O and 1-2 D that left - we are going to do that through free agency.. its going to come with the players we drafted in place of those guys that left

The next long run we are going to have is going to come when the young guys come up hungry and ready to contribute

Saad - Toews - Kane
Sharp - McNeill - Hossa
Morin - Bolland - Danault
Beach - Shaw - Bollig

Keith - Seabrook
Leddy - Olsen
Hjalmarsson - Clendening/Johns

I'm not saying all these guys are going to pan out.. of course not.. but this is the philosophy that will get the team on their next run

Obviously some free agents are going to take up some spots.. but when we traded away our depth... we got return.. we just had to wait a couple of years to see it

The future is bright

That team is poised to miss the playoffs

I am in favor of playing some kids but i mean where did, Bickell, Stalberg, Carcillo, Frolik, Montador, Kruger go no offense, but your not going to scratch 7 or 8 million dollars worth of players, just to "play the kids"

I'm sorry, but this is just ridiculous. Instead of dressing all those rookies and prospects, let's just package them for actual NHL talent. The Hawks have no need for all the prospects they have. The Hawks were just fine, just ran into a very hot goalie this series. If the Hawks had Mike Smith they would be top 3 contenders.

Reading those lines I couldn't help but cringe.

People in NYC seem pissed off with Gaborik. Maybe we could get him.

Agreed. I'd rather not waste Kane and Toews while they're approaching their primes helping rookies learn the ropes. We should be surrounding them with higher quality NHL depth that can help them get the job done and win us another Cup.

Personally i wouldn't mind trading Sharp for a goalie or something else of value, Sharp Rarely scores unless he is set up he doesnt make much happen on his own.
