Preds which I have like for a couple years now, and Blues since I took a liking to them earlier this year (love Pietrangelo, Backes and Perron <3<3<3)
In the East, I'm liking the underdog story of the Panthers, plus it helps that we dont have a rivalry with them haha
1996 playoffs?? Sorry, but after that, I never want to see the Panthers win anything...ever.
I'm rooting for either the Predators or the Blues. Both teams are the opposite of us. Strong defense, not that great offensively. And it helps that they're in the West. I never want any Eastern team to win unless their name is the Penguins.
I'm so pleased with the Western Conference right now. I want both semi-final series to go 7 games. I'd love to see a Nashvilled St. Louis final with Nashville going to the Cup Finals.
Out of the East I want Boston because I have an extreme dislike for NYR, Caps, and Flyers. I'd like to see Ottawa or Florida, but that doesn't seem likely.
I want Preds to win the cup.
The bolded for me too. While I wouldn't hate to see the Caps do well simply b/c they are affiliated with my local AHL team I'm affraid Holtby is going to cool off and make it too easy on the Rags or Flyers. I'd pull for Ottawa but I have the same concern.
I think the B's have the best chances of knocking off the Rags and or Flyers so that's who I'm pulling for. Not to mention the blood bath that I think will ensue b/w the Bruins and either of remaining detested teams. Somehow I don't expect the refs to take it as easy on Philly by constantly sending the Bruins to the box. The Bruins are one of those teams that you expect to play a physical style and therefore the referees tend to overlook more penalties. I'm not sure why but that's the way it seems to be.
I'm split evenly with the Blues and Preds out West. In the East as long as it is not any of Pitts rivals I don't care, but I could stomach New York or New Jersey. As long as it's not Philly or Washington coming out of the East I'm fine with it.
I'm rooting for the under dog stories in the East though, Florida and Ottawa. I wouldnt mind Boston going back ether but I'm not really cheering for them, I like a lot of their roster, always have, but just don't find myself cheering for the team so much as certain players.
3. Florida/Ottawa tie
Kings. Pretty easy considering they'll be my "home team" soon.
As much as I still hate them...I want nothing more to see Richards and Carter hoist the Cup...preferably as visiting players in Philadelphia.
“The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile, but that it is indifferent. If we can come to terms with this indifference and accept the challenges of life within the boundaries of death, our existence as a species can have genuine meaning and fulfillment. However vast the darkness, we must supply our own light.” - Stanley Kubrick
I don't particularly care for St. Louis. Mike Richards and Jeff Carter play for Los Angeles. Nashville's okay. It's always nice to root for a team like Phoenix.
A part of me wants to see Martin Brodeur go on a run. But, if Florida were to win the Cup, the irony would be wonderful for the hockey world. I don't like the Rangers or the Flyers. I want Washington to defeat Boston, but go no further than the Eastern Conference Finals. Ottawa is boring.
In a nutshell, I want the winners of the Florida - NJ series and the Nashville - Phoenix series to play each other in the Cup finals.
