Yup, it didn't matter how many times you remind them that we would have lost him on waivers because we didn't have room for him on the roster, or that Florida waived him after yet another bad camp. One fluke season was enough to hear it all last summer. Now that he's returned to his average, we don't hear about it much anymore. It would take a demotion to the Sabres' third line and a sub 35 point season before we hear the end of the Hodgson trade.

If you get Parise, then yes.

Better get a second line centre then because Kesler is always injured come playoff time.

“I’m not going to come back early,” Kesler stressed Thursday from his offseason home in West Bloomfield, Mich. “With the program I have, the fourth-month period is when you can really start pushing the envelope and even if it goes until December, I’m not coming back until I’m 110 per cent when I know I’m ready and able to play my game.

“It’s going to take six months and the surgeon [Dr. Anthony Miniaci of the Cleveland Clinic] is not going to release me until I’m at full strength and mobility. I’m doing rehab two or three times a week with my therapist and rehab on my own every day to get my range of motion back slowly. I’ve started working out this week so my legs are more sore than my shoulder right now, but I’m not going to rush anything.

That's good to hear. Also nice to see he's already doing some rehab and not still in a sling or anything.

Good to hear. Hopefully he really means it. I know he's passionate about hockey, but the team should've held him out a bit longer.

Asked him for a b-day retweet, but seems like he called it quits right after I typed it

If he reinjured his groin he might have come back to early but he didn't so he rehabbed it enough. Instead he injured his shoulder when he had groin surgery, not sure the two were related.

I have felt that as well.

And I am really speculating here, but it just felt like Kesler...or even the entire core...were just so intent on getting back to the playoffs and back to the SCF that ultmately there wasn't much left in the tank by the time the season ended.

As the Kings have shown (todays game not withstanding) coming together at the right time, with the energy and health to see it through, becomes pretty damned important.

Great to hear he's not gonna be rushing back, but it makes me a bit nervous to see a guy of Keslers calibre not back til possibly December, we're in trouble if the replacement doesn't do anything.

It's encouraging that he'll be skating more as part of this rehab.

Overhardt clarifies that Kesler is still on schedule to return in December and that he also had minor surgery on his left wrist.

Good. I hope he's not "ahead of schedule" this year.

Communication between the #Canucks and Ryan Kessler camp regarding his shoulder injury hasn't been great. After talks with the #Canucks last night and this morning Kesler's agent Kurt Overhardt tells me everyone is NOW on the same page. The doctor says December is when Kesler will return and that's the schedule the #Canucks and Kesler will follow. You will not see further false reports from either side about Kesler's injury.

Never saw Kesler dog it all. His theatrics were a black eye though.

He'll get destroyed in a 2nd-3rd line center role. They'll probably sign Arnott instead.

Absolutely sucks that he's going miss training camp two years in a row now. If he isn't up to standard, we'll be in trouble.

Until RK17 returns in December, I think we'll see JS in a 2nd line scoring role, with probably Lapierre holding down the checking duties. Much like last year when Hodgson was the 2nd line C.

I think we'll be fine until he comes back. It's not the regular season that people are worried about anymore. I'd rather give up some points in the standings to have Kesler fully healthy for the playoffs.
