New deal helps Jagr situation

FACTS:
caps volunteered to take 4.5 million of Jagr's salary
Jagr already gave up 1 million of his current salary for a partial no trade clause.
Union offer a 24% roll back

Therefore

11 million - 1 million (Jagr's omission)
= 10 million

24% of salary

11 million - (.24 x 11 million)

=
8 million 3 hundred and 60 thousand.

- 4.5 million....

means the rangers are only gonna now pay Jagr

3,860,000

That's a good freakin deal for a player like JAGR!!

lol. true that, true that. gj with the math. under 4 million for one of the best players in the league. lets just hope this proposal pans out so we can start watching hfd get their ass kicked at the NHL level.

The problem is he shows up once every couple games. Wouldn't call him one of the best players in the league. One of the most skilled? yes.

I believe the only "fair" way to rollback the salaries of players who are basically being paid by two organizations is to proportion the rollback between the two teams. So using your formula, here is how I believe it would go:

11 million - 1 million (Jagr's omission)
= 10 million

24% of salary

11 million - (.24 x 11 million)

=
8 million 3 hundred and 60 thousand.

- 3.42 million....Washingtons share of the deal

means the rangers are only gonna now pay Jagr

$4,940,000

IMO that would be the only way it could be decided.

I suppose it depends on the terms of the trade. If they agreed to a percentage, this is definitely how it would go. If they agreed on numbers, you can't really vary that.

That was in WSH. I dont remember him having many bad games as a Ranger where he was happy.

I gotta admit, as much as i hate the Rangers constantly going out to get "stars", Jagr has actually looked like he cares about playing for this team. He did not take one game off last season, and the game meant nothing last year.

Jagr does...

and it's funny to hear people say that he show up to only every couple of games. Amazing numbers he can put up while not showing up (point-per-game last year, mostly done by himself).

why then is he mauled so much? He is certainly not the swiftest of skaters. They maul him because it is next to impossible to stop him one on one down low.

When I read the terms of the deal it said 4.5 million to be payed by washington per season. So I would assume that it would occur through all circumstances. The only other clause it has in what I read is that it wouldn't be payed during the lock-out.

I don't know about that. It looked like he found his nougat filling after the trade.

Fair enough. IMO no insides or soft, fluffy insides isn't much of a choice of candy.

I'll take a Heath bar every time.

You aren't going to find very many toffee filled players with Jagr's talent package. Maybe we can stuff Jagr in a freezer overnight.

True. And the Tin Man had a very hard exterior. Good armor against those flying monkeys.
