If you are a true Hawks fan you vote AGAINST Sharp. Every round. Who wants to deal with that curse?
Kane had a career best 88 points after being on the cover for NHL10.. and the Hawks kinda won the Cup.
Jonathan Toews had a career best 76 points after being on the cover of NHL11.. the Hawks were eliminated after a spirited (almost) comeback against Vancouver.

There never was an NHL Games curse since they put the SuperStars that aren't everywhere in the league on the cover yearly.
NFL has a "curse" because they like to put guys on the cover after they had outstanding career years and that generally boas bad for the next season... especially at the fragile RB which they have chosen often.
Sharp doesn't deserve it but the amount of votes for Hartnel just shows the overwhelming take over by Philly fans.

I don't think it's a sign Philly fans are taking over.. just that people in general just like Scott Hartnell as a dude. He's a likeable guy.
Why the hell are TJ Oshie and David Perron being listed with these kinds of players? The two Blues players are the worst on the list. Their career highs in points are defenseman numbers. In fact, combine their career highs and they still don't equal Malkin's point total this year(and Malkin missed 7 games lmao). PK Subban doesn't belong either but Montreal has a ton of fans.
I'm pulling for Malkin to win it though. I'd bet $100+ that Giroux will win it though.
They are also 50-60 point players. I'd love either one(even though Perron is a dbag) but they aren't anywhere near cover type athletes. I just found it interesting they were both St Louis players and not very deserving especially with so little choices.
