I have no problem saying our prospect pool is VASTLY improved, Hackett and Brodin and Granlund make me giddy to think about. I am very excited about the prospects we have.
But to say that this entire organization has turned around when we just witnessed a spectacular collapse, and are drafting in the top-10, and our prospects haven't begun to taste the NHL game, is a bit premature.
I'm not saying I'm not excited for the future, or that I don't think that GMCF is taking us in the right direction, I'm just saying that while one part of our organization has drastically improved, the on-ice product of the Wild has not, and that ultimately is what matters.
It may be an important aspect, but it keeps happening over and over in this thread and others:
Poster A: "Our prospect pool is great!"
Poster B: "The organization hasn't proven anything, the team is terrible, we're picking top 10, blah blah blah."
Every single word of that "Poster B" statement is irrelevant. We're in the "2012 Prospect Thread." Of course they haven't proven anything, that's why they're still prospects and not proven NHLers. There's no need to cut every single positive statement down, especially not here. The drafting and development portion of the team has seen a dramatic turnaround and improvement. Despite many posters best efforts, that cannot be denied. If you want to whine about production on the ice, go whine in the appropriate thread.
