Points and line mates for Grigs in his rookie year?

Who do you guys see Grigorenko playing with in his rookie season and how many points will he get? Lets go with only players that will be signed to contracts whenever you think he will turn pro.

I see lines like this for this year...at least to start

Foligno-Ennis-Stafford
Vanek-Grigorenko-Roy
Leino-Hodgson-Pominville

I could see them switching Roy and Grigorenko but I bet they try him at center, keep roy and build three extremely strong scoring lines! I see at least 65 points from him this season and see him challenging for rookie of the year. I think him and Nail will challenge for that honor because both will be surrounded by very good players! What is everyone's take on this?

I do think he would play with Vanek, but I dont think their RW is on the roster today.

I would guess Tropp if no moves are made, but I think we will see something added. Roy is a gone IMO.

I definitely think that Vanek and Grigorenko could be a lethal duo. I think this is the player that Vanek needed to take a step forward. Vanek has an unreal shot and Grigorenko is going to give Vanek some great opportunities and vica versa! Very excited to see him play! I would love to see Bobby Ryan on this line but I just don't see it happening. I love our team the way it is.

I think moving Roy would be a mistake, and Grigs can learn D on the wing before moving to greater responsibility. Plus Vanek and Roy can be a safety net.

Im sure it happens a lot, but do we see many top prospects start at wing and move to center?

The sight of Vanek and Roy on the same line another year, I may not be able to take that.

Seguin didn't.

IF (and it is still an if) Grigorenko is ready to play in the NHL this season, AND barring any other forward moves:

Vanek-Hodgson-Grigorenko
Leino-Roy-Pominville
Foligno-Ennis-Stafford
Gerbe-McCormick-Kaleta
Tropp, Ellis

are my lines opening night. However, we could still see changes if they trade for a Bobby Ryan or if they add another bottom 6 guy.

Seguin did it in 10-11, IIRC RNH got some time at wing before he really started to carry the mail.

I don't believe if the kid starts the season, he'll be centering Vanek and Pomer's, I think that'll be Hodgson, just a guess though.

Anthony Duclair on his left, maybe Adam Erne on his right.
100+ points.

The wing is a real possibility, not sure the line make up though, I don't think Ruff would split up Pomer's and Vanek.

I believe Regier will make a deal with Roy involved this off season, if Grigorenko can show he can handle the pivot.

We'll see.

I like the look of it. So basically you play out the year with Roy and then move Grigs to center his 2nd year? I can see that.

We ended the year with them split up. Basically the only change I made to the end-of-season lineup (which was working) is slide Grigs in for Tropp.

So some are already pegging him for 65 pts? Slow down, guys. He has to make the team first. And put me in the camp wanting him to learn a little while on the wing.

I'm not counting on him making the big club in his first year, but it certainly would be exciting if he did. I would guess 40-50 pts though.

I'd like to see (if Grigs makes it)
Vanek-Hodgson-Pommer
Leino-Roy-Grigorenko
Foligno-Ennis-Stafford

or trade Roy:
Vanek-Hodgson-Pommer
Leino-Grigorenko-Gerbe
Foligno-Ennis-Stafford

or trade Ennis (for Ryan):
Vanek-Hodgson-Pommer
Leino-Grigorenko-Ryan
Foligno-Roy-Stafford

Could also see this. I think Roy could have a pretty good season and I think it could be beneficial to keep him for the season. At the very least until the trade deadline unless we can get Ryan without giving up a second roster player. Vanek-Grigorenko-Ryan SOUNDS great for a future line.

Couturier didn't need to learn defense, he was already very proficient at it because he has a very high level of hockey sense in all three zones.

I'm the only one who suggested 65 points but yes I do THINK he will make the team and yes I do THINK he has ELITE talent. Elite talent has the ability to put up those numbers in a rookie season. That's just my opinion I started the thread to see others opinions.

If he makes it, I'd go:

Leino-Roy-Pominville
Grigorenko-Hodgson-Vanek
Foligno-Ennis-Stafford
Gerbe-xxxxx-Kaleta

Lots of offensive zone starts with Vanek and CoHo.
