Is it Tuukka Time? - all goalie talk here

Clearly Thomas didn't play like he did last year, a lot of soft goals and what not. Not blaming it on him, but do you think that Tuukka comes in as #1 next year?

I think that the Thomas era may be winding down.

Thomas did lots for the Bruins but I agree with you that it is time to move on and maybe use the cap for some offence and give the starting job to the Rasker.

Not because of the politics or because of his play but because it is Tukka's time & because we have a good back up in Khudobin.

maybe send Thomas to Detroit so he can be closer to home.....IDK what their goalie situation is

I don't want the TT era to end, but it might be the right time to part. Someone might give up a serviceable player or pick to make another run or two with Timmy. Timmy was good but not great this season and the Bruins have to shuffle some pieces.

Trade Thomas and you'll instantly regret it.

im honestly torn... he wasnt TT of last year, but could we really expect him to keep up that level of play?

Do we trade him in the off season while value is still high?

Like i said, part of me wants TT here next year (splitting the games 50/50 with Tuukka) and another wants to move him for a valuable piece and move forward with the Rask era

I'd have loved for Tuukka to have a complete healthy year before we got to this point. Hasn't happened.

Thomas didn't lose us that game or the series. But I would look to move him if we could get a good player in return. It really depends on the return for me.

I'll trust Chiarelli.

I think we'd regret trading Thomas. Especially to a team who needs him, like Tampa or Toronto.

Thomas needs to spend the last year of that contract here; split the time 50/50 with Tukka, and fight into the playoffs

Yep. As soon as Rask goes down for another injury (I'm betting it happens) and you find yourself with Khudobin and some scrub from Providence holding down the fort for the next 6-8 weeks.

KPD today on TSN's "That's hockey" stated there is no way he trades Tim Thomas, for a guy that seemed intent on running the guy out of town a little while ago this means alot.

I am not really keen on pinning my hopes on a goaltender than has been injuried 2/3 years in the NHL either, at least not yet.

I'm not saying we should trade him. Too early for that kind of talk imo. But if he is moved, Chiarelli will send him to the western conference.

I see it playing out that thomas gets traded to make cap room for a big offseason signing.

Tim Thomas was amazing...OP has lost it. Year before last, everyone wanted to deal Thomas. Then he basically was the biggest gear in a STANLEY CUP win and this board still hadnt completely bought into him.

He changed the fate of your organization...play him until he retires or simply can't compete anymore in my opinion.

You could say the same for any team whose number one goes down though.

If Thomas can be used to get us something good to great, then I'd consider trading him.

Ride it out for one more year IMO. I want Tuukka and Timmy to have a true battle this year though. It should not be an automatic that Thomas is the guy in the playoffs.

Not the board... just some fans that think this is a fantasy league.

Trading TT would be the dumbest move this franchise has ever made.

They didn't lose this series b/c of TT. He's the only reason it even went 7 at all.

A good team w/ TT would have won this series in 5 or 6. Your Bruins just got stopped by a back up. And, you want to trade a Vezina caliber goalie?

No PP. No #1 centerman. No legit 1st line.

Trading TT is good recipe to be a lottery team next year.

Tuukka hasn't proven a thing other than health could be an issue.

Wake up.

Ugh. This was a tight series. You really think Rask would've done better?

This was a Caps team that won by finally playing good D, it's not like they put a boatload of pucks past Thomas. They didn't.

Granted, he's gotta be close to slowing down just because of age, so maybe trade based ONLY on that projection, but I think he's still one of THE most solid guys in net in the league.

Thomas, Peverley, Seidenberg are probably the two players who get a passing grade for this series.

I don't know, I like Thomas a lot but how much longer can he keep it up? He's getting older and now might be the time to move him well you can get a good return.

Who says Rask is ready? He hasn't had an injury free season yet and hasn't been 100% consistent.

What's the point of trading TT when he has 1 year left on his contract?
