Erik Gudbranson

I was wondering what it would take to try and steal this kid away from Tallon and the Panthers. I know he probably wouldn't get traded but was wondering what it would take to get him to the Flyers. Maybe something around JVR, Marc-Andrea Bourdon/Erik Gustafsson and maybe a later pick for Erik Gudbranson. I apologize if this isn't anywhere near his value, I don't often make these types of threads. Also searched for it and nothing came up, so if this has been posted before I honestly didn't see it.

Couturier or Schenn would be starting points, I would think. JVR is not rated that highly by me.

Yeah Couterier, or Schenn would be the top building points.

He isn't rated high by you(no insult honestly) but GM's like the kid. Brian Burke absolutely loves the kid. There is no denying that other GM's like the kid a lot. He is also looked up for 6 years, with the contract back loaded. He starts with 2.5 million and 3.75 million in the first two years. Not saying Florida is in trouble financially, but the lower money amounts are a plus(for any team really).

I think the Flyers would be very hesitant to include Schenn or Couts, but I can see why people are mentioning them.

outsiders POV it starts with Couturier or Schenn, and I am not sure FLA does it with Huberdeau. Bjudstad and others ready to make an impact in the near future,

Tallon doesnt trade Gudbranson unless someone severely overpays, or if he were to be included in some massive trade for a superstar. He is an absolute monster on the blueline, and he will be causing a lot of pain for opponents, for years to come. Future captain of the Panthers, and a Pronger clone, if he can get a bit more accurate on that bomb of his.

This. And it would be a huge **** you to Guds if he was traded, the guy wanted to play for this team even before he was drafted.

Don't see a lot of Panthers games but from what I have watched in the playoffs this year, Erik has looked pretty solid and played some decent minutes in clutch situations such as PK etc.

Given his recent performance, his age, his size and his decent contract - huge overpayment would be required to get this guy

You build around young Dman like him and don't trade them in my opinion

Value is off the charts, he's not going anywhere. Really don't understand these types of threads.

Not bad, except that Gubranson is still a prospect, and J. Staal is a star two-way center.

Is Staal really a "star"? I think that's severely overrating him.

Gudbranson is such a stud. I'm not sure there is much of anything that Florida could reasonably get that would make me trade him. IMO this is the kind of player that teams need on their backend to win championships. Not quite there yet, but will be soon.

JVR (+) for Kulikov makes more sense for FLA, I think. They could move Kulikov, resign Garrison, and roll some combination of Campbell, Gudbranson, Garrison, and Jovanovski for the next 3 season or so, but which point some of their other prospects / free agent signings / draft picks should be ready to step in.

Nope. I think JvR + Voracek for Gudbranson+ would be a decent basis if we're not talking about Couturier or Schenn.

This is why I'd rather trade for the rights of Garrison than try for Gud.
