like it worked with Bruno? It was only a one year 2 million deal

Other NHL teams aren't trading their elite players unless you want to give up one of Chicago's elite players.
Or, of course, unless one stupidly stockpiles three or four first round picks as well as two great prospects and tosses them haphazardly into a silly hypothetical deal that manifests its creator as someone who is clueless about the league.
not to mention that 4 of the others play in the NHL with Olsen finally being NHL ready

Like I've said before, the difference is this guy is younger and most of all, there is no connection to Q so they won't coddle him. If he isn't performing, Q won't feel an obligation to keep giving him chances.

Right. Just like what happened with Marcus Kruger, Sean O'Donnell, John Scott, Nick Boynton, and Matt Walker.

Even if he is performing, Q might still give him the Lepisto and bench him for months at a time for no apparent reason.

younger, and about the same amount of foot speed!

We have our Dustin Penner. Actually, we have two. Bickell and Jimmy Hayes. Both of them are cheaper than Dustin Penner

Penner is far down the list on potential moves that could help the team. Let me at least make that clear. It's the big move that really, really needs to be made ASAP. You don't lose, Ladd, Buff, Versteeg and Campbell and not replace a single one of them and expect to seriously compete for the Cup again.

JJ is again hinting that Dave Bolland is or will be shopped this summer. If he trades Bolland, this would be Stan Bowman's biggest mistake IMO.

If he is shopping Bolland, I would then assume that he is planning to add a true 2nd line center to the team with the intention of making Kruger the 3rd line center, which I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to. Of course, I would prefer to keep Bolland AND acquire a true 2nd line center if possible.

Yes, we should be keeping Bolland and acquiring a No. 2 with something else. Watch, Bolland for Roy or some garbage like that.

Just sign Olli Jokinen if that's what's on the table. If it is Getzlaf or Malkin, different story.

If we get Pavelski or Krejci, it wouldn't be a mistake

since it's JJ that is reporting it, it won't be true

Agreed, depends on who comes back, if we get a true #2 C coming back then it's not a bad trade, if it's like for like and we get as someone suggested Roy or someone like that coming back then it's not worth it.

Canucks fan with a question. Why are you guys looking for a 2 line center when you have Sharp? Has he fallen out of favour there or is he more suited on the wing?

Send a message via ICQ to DisgruntledHawkFan
His inability to pass makes Sharp best suited for wing.

NO.

Never.

I don't care what kind of stats he put up for the Flames last year, he is to winning as Blagojevich is to honest upstanding public servants.

why not just put Bolland as our second line center? He's capable.

Bolland will never play as 2nd line Center. He's just not suited for this role

ahhh I love HF....where someone posts fat and lazy and the sheep just flock to it.

if you have watched a single playoff game for the Kings, Penner has been everything but fat and lazy.

the guy has had one down year....I wish we could have a fat and lazy player like Penner that actually scores goals every year he has played..

Ill get pretty annoying with continuing to push this but id rather give up sharp and get a guy like staal back than give our premier shutdown c that turns it up a level in the playoffs for a guy like Roy leaving Kruger as 3rd c. I cant express enough how badly I hope thats what bowman is aiming at.

Just what we need then, regular season phantoms who decide they like the playoffs.

Disagree

Bolland has underperformed the last 3 years and his health will always be a lingering concern

If Hawks can get good value for him and bring in a legit top 6 C then move him

Maybe the Pens/Hawks can work a deal around Bolland/Staal (Hawks adding obviously)

I would rather roll dice on our no show regular season 3rd line then bring in Penner
