Haha..no it was actually a guy I took to a game earlier this year. He's admittedly not a fan and is a good dude, but my goodness I couldn't help but laugh at this conversation!

haha yeah i mean mostly these girls are only trying to impress the men, but you know...can't blame em. Just grinds my gears when I'm like "I haven't been this happy in a long time." and they're like, "Omg you're telling me, I'm soo stoked i would have died if they lost." like ****ing really?
Because he is a loser. Any decent analyst would realize a game well played, but even his homerism makes no sense. There are so many people up here in Canada that are way way smarter than you would think. If you watch HNIC and assume that they speak for the average Canadian hockey fan, you would be wrong. Canadians like myself often are big supporters of Original Six teams like the Rangers, Bruins, Red Wings and Blackhawks. Don Cherry is embarrassing on television, sitting next to his sycophantic buddy Ron MacLean.
Quite often, he reveals that he really does know a lot about some aspects of hockey, and then he will do a real dis-service to a team, or a nation, and sensible people just sensibly have to say "eff you Cherry".

Props to Ottawa on a great series. I was there tonight, lost my voice. The 3rd was very solid except the one shift Girardi and Staal were on the ice for 3 minutes. Proud of the guys for fighting back. Let's beat Washington

I understand. My soon to be wife (Sept. 8) knows and understands hockey better than most of my guy friends. She even showed up some guys at MSG a few times by knowing (remembering) obscure facts that I've told her.
For example, she's at a game with a friend and there is a promo for the Rangers with Chris Jericho and the guys next to her are all like "why is Chris Jericho doing a Rangers promo?" And without missing a beat she turns to them and says "Probably because his dad was a Ranger..." They were like... "what?"
It's awesome when she busts out hockey knowledge and stuns people who don't expect it because she's a girl.
Poor girl is a mess right now..I hate the Devils, but man I honestly just want her to be happy tonight.

Me too. I raced home 225 miles from work to see it on DVR. What a game, their style can give you a heart attack, but, man, I watched Kreider at BC and he has made all the difference, because now they have a couple of good set lines instead of one line that other teams could shut down.
Do you realize (Devils just scored) that Rangers are only team to win Game 7 at home?
