Am I the only Jets fan not miserable with the Sanchez thing? I'm assuming it saves cap for this season, which seems to be a necessity. The team is not and never was getting Manning. Aside from the top 2 guys, are there any QBs 1) Worth drafting this year 2) Going to be better than Sanchez right now and 3) That you are so confident will be better than Sanchez altogether? Generally speaking, I'm thinking no for all 3. (Yes I realize a QB drafted anywhere outside of the top 5 this year may be a hall of famer, but its not something someone knows/believes now, so that's irrelevant). Who can they get right now who will be any better for this team this season? Or for next season? Unless you know of someone better that is actually realistic to have acquired, then there's nothing wrong with the deal, as its a present day cap saving move. To get the player to do that, you have to give them money + years. If he's so bad, they'll cut him at some point during this year and unload the non-guaranteed portion of his remaining deal. The end.

I've never been a fan of the QBs that are known for their legs coming out of college, but I've been wrong enough times to not go out and start saying ______ will fail in the NFL. I'm skeptical of how he'll do, but will readily acknowledge these scouts know more than I do, so they have a decent enough shot of being right.

three weeks into the season he had more touchdowns than incompletions. i don't care what level you're at, that's impressive. he can run, but that's not nearly all there is to his game. he is an accurate, strong passer. i'd give plenty to be in the position to draft him.
Peyton probably told the Jets that he wasn't interested in playing for them which is what led to them giving Sanchez the extension to stroke his ego/comfort even though they are keeping their fingers crossed with this deal

That is absolutely what happened. Two teams made a reactionary move because of rejection by Manning. The Jets extending Sanchez and the Redskins going all in on RG3.
Apparently the Browns were about to up their offer and the Skins put this offer on the table. While I give them props for going out and getting the guy they want, I don't see the Redskins as a QB away from doing anything significant and that's even saying RG3 is respectable his first few years. The Rans only moved down 4 spots, they pick up an early 2nd round pick and quite possibly pick up top 10 picks (or better) the next 2 years. Great trade by the Rams.

Well, the Skins basically bet the house on him. If he busts, heads will roll.

All I can do is shake my head. Skins did something like this with Heath. Here you go boy save the team. Now go get out there on the field and win.FAIL
Well they're banking on Shanny being able to get the most out of Griffin I guess. But three #1's AND another #2? Yeesh, the Rams made the right call sticking with Bradford and auctioning the pick. Especially since the Redskins' 1 this year wasn't all that low to begin with, and it probably won't be too low next year either.

Well Eli basically did that to Giants fans the year of their first Super Bowl win when they booed him out of the building against the Vikings and wanted him streeted then. But I don't think Sanchez's celing is Eli, unfortunately. And the Jets have too many other holes to be as good as that year's Giants team.

Name me some quarterbacks who made the Conference Finals 2 out of their first 3 seasons.
Thought so.
The hate/disrespect for this kid is unreal.
The greatest irony is how Giants fans hate on him, joke about him when they play the blame carousel every year with their players and coaches, only to treat them as legends when they respond as champions.

No thank you to Peyton.
The Jets made the correct choice.
Giants fans talk as if they know everything about the Jets. We have so many holes at different positions that taking on Manning would have crippled us cap wise.
They would be the ones saying sign Peyton and then laugh at us when we go 8-8 because we have a crap o-line, front 7 and RB corps.
Have to give Sanchez the chance after the Schottenheimer era. He may not be the answer, who knows, but they have so many other issues they need to address.
Need an o-lineman, need a skilled LB possibly in the draft and desperately need a safety, as well as general speed on defense.
