And to the other poster who said comparing the ahl to the nhl is like men vs boys, I implore you to purchase tickets to the marlies next home game. Certainly the play is much sloppier in the AHL, some guys clearly dont belong on the ice since their either way too good for this level or the other way around, but if you want to compare the quality of physicality during the game, i.e. the hitting with the ahl vs the nhl, it's pretty darn close. They even had to take a tv timeout to replace a pane of glass in last nights game after a huge hit along the boards. Last nights game was the first marlies game I've gone to, and I'm praying it wont be the last this year. Best $15 spent ever.
I get that he was sticking up for his goalie, it's just the manner in which he did it that I thought was funny because it made him look foolish. There are so many other ways he could have gone about addressing his goalie's performance in the game and of all the things he could have said, he decides to make a petty comment. I would honestly face palm if I ever heard Eakins say anything as stupid as that.

I don't know about that, he has been known to step it up when you get under his skin.

Pretty sure he is the only Russian that Don Cherry likes which must mean he holds his own.

Was planning on going to Thursdays game but didn't end up happening, sad I missed it but I'm glad we won.

I really hope we win this series, I haven't been following it as much as I'd like.

If anyone here has twitter, hit up Jerry D'amigo and tell him to contact sportschirps and make a #FearDaBeard shirt with them lol

Sportschirps extended the invite already

Was there a fight? Because all I remember is the Kovalchuk cross check to the face that caused Ian White to crumble to the ice.

I've got my tickets for tonight's game in Abbotsford and will report on what I see.

Anybody want me to keep an eye out for anything in particular?

Let me know if you can see a vapor trail behind Frattin's shot.

Gardiner at times IMO has been guilty of being ahead of the game / play in the AHL, I would like to see what you make of that.

Also how he is along the boards.

I want you to keep an eye on Kadri and Colborne. They have to come up big in these playoffs especially Colborne with his lacklustre performance this year.

Been at two games these playoffs.

Colbrone has, IMO, been fantastic these playoffs. Very noticeable whenever he's on the ice. I hear so much about his skating being a problem but to me he's one of the better skaters out there.

Kadri has been meh, so far. He was good on Thursday, but he does too many unnecessary moves. And he doesn't do the simple pass enough. Also still does that stick tap thing which is incredibly irritating lol, but that doesn't matter. He is not head-and-shoulders above everybody, that's for sure. Still extremely weak on his skates, but seems faster than earlier in the season/last season.

Just what I've taken from these playoffs.

Edit: Keep in mind that I have higher expectations for Kadri than Colborne.

Keep an eye on Blacker. Can't expect him to be back in top form right away, but he's been shakier (even just with decision making) than I expected.

Also, Scrivens' rebound control.

Is this game going to be on anywhere that we can watch it? I couldn't find it anywhere.

Or know if there will be a stream anywhere?

Yeah, lemme know if you see Colborne because other than a bad turnover, I didn't notice him in the last game at all and mostly haven't for the playoffs.

It's close to the most affordable I've seen.

4.50 for a 12OZ and 9.00 for a 24OZ.

nice rink too
