i think frattin will start on third line and kadri will be on second line

I still think Kulemin will turn it back around. He is of very little risk on the ice, so the team benefits greatly from a Kulemin putting up offensive numbers. With that said, if the depth of this team proves rich enough to bump him to the third line; I will not complain. I got the inclination that there will be a big shakeup in the lineup...so who really knows what the available positions will end up being at this point..

I was at Game 1 at Ricoh. The arena was nearly 3/4 full. Marlies are definitely drawing a large crowd this playoffs.

I believe so. He just got back from an injury so I wouldn't be overly surprised if they are taking it slowly with him.

The difference between NHL playoffs and AHL playoffs is night and day. It's so hard to get a shot off in the NHL while in AHL, it's a freebee.

1360 fans in Abbotsford tonight.

What a joke.

It's no fun to go to games where the rink is 15% full. What really pisses me off is that the WHL down the road, the Chilliwack Bruins, left last year because the Heat apparently stole their market. Funny thing is, the team's all time worst attendance was 2400 fans, and they averaged 3400 in their last season. I was a big Bruins fan that last season, and this just bugs me.

They changed the Zigo goal to Frattin. I thought Frattin had scored.

P.S. this must be a development league for announcers too. Yikes. The number of "ums" and "ahs" I've heard this game has been unbelievable.

Abbotsford Season Tickets included the first round, in which they got 1 game, which had about 3400 in terms of attendance.

2nd round required them to re-up, which it looks like their Season Ticket Holders Base didn't bother to renew for the next round. Shocking really, but atmosphere is part of why people go to games. Sitting in a rink thats 15% full takes away half of the enjoyment of the game.

The Heat are in HUGE trouble next year with this performance in the stands. 2nd round, against what I would argue is the 2nd best team to get fans in the stands (it's the hated Leafs) and they can't get more than 1800 on a weekday.

Great penalty killing and some clutch saves by Scrivens

Another late Marlies goal incoming?

Doesn't the city of Abbottsford subsidize them a bit?

The Marlies trying to be aggressive on the PK almost cost them towards the end there. Scrivens made some key saves.

Didn't I hear the people of Abbottsford are pissed off because they are covering the Heat losses, and have cost them more then a $1 000 000?

It's a very fine arena with excellent sight lines, convenient amenities, good parking and about the right size for minor pro hockey. The facility is certainly no excuse for non attendance.

You do wonder what attendance would be if the team were a feeder for the Canucks rather than the Flames, who may be hated as much as the Leafs!

It's true. It's a double edged sword. People in Abbotsford refuse to support the team because they're paying for them, and by thus, their losses are bigger and covered by the tax payer more.

And it's funny, the AHL is as big as a league the town can get. Fantastic arena - but the Heat, since day 1, have been a team that everyone knows won't stick around as soon as their lease is up, and even beforehand IF the City nixes the lease and buys them out somehow.

Fantastic rink though - would probably be the best junior hockey rink in western canada if it were used for that.
