I checked in on the Wild board and it looked like most of them were cheering for the Panthers last round, 3rd round pick be damned. I guess they must hate Zidlicky as much as we hated Langenbrunner last year.

The fact Zidlicky directly complained to the media really was over the top and he pretty much became a distraction in the locker room.

That's why most Wild fans hate him.

He probably became fed up with playing for a perennial loser. Not to mention the coach had no idea how to properly utilize him.

Great trade for the NJD. Zids looks like a solid top-pairing d-man.

No, I'm really not. There's something to be said for a player being happy in his environment (and with the system). He clashed with Yeo who didn't allow him to play to his strengths...

Personally, I'd want to get out of the cities as well. Team is going nowhere fast..

And Wild fans are telling me Parise will sign there Yeah, He loves Minnesota so much he.....left there to play college in ND. Come play on a team that has no idea what the postseason is and has few weapons up front. lol

Zidlicky has said publicly that he didn't agree with how Yeo wanted him play and that was the problem.

I think he has been great since he's been here. I wish he'd get a few more shots through and shoot a bit more, but his defense has been waaaay better than I expected.

He has been nothing like what Wild fans were telling us...they made it sound like he had no legs and that clearly isn't the case.

Zid is our best skater as a Dman arguably

I don't think it's arguable??? Maybe a case can be made for Greene, but I think Zidlicky is a step above him.

There is no argument. Zid has the best offensive tools on the blueline which includes skating.

Harrold isn't bad either. Edit:speaking purely on skating.

Greene has better top end speed, but Zids is very mobile and is easily our most creative d-man in the offensive zone.

He looked really good in Game 7. Wish he's get a few more assists but whatever, his transition game can clearly be seen.

Yeah WTF? Where did Harrold even come form? I was pleasantly surprised by his puck skills.

Not sure how these 3 are going to contend with Philly's big forward but we'll see?

He's decent. Certainly better than Clarkson.

He's being used properly here, and he fits in better with his teammates. A seamless addition.

He was a minute eater in Game 7. Something like 35 minutes, which is nuts.

lol, I completely forgot about that conditional third. Like we said at the time though, it'd be awesome if we had to give it up

I do hope that's for the year after this year because we might be giving up our first-rounder win or lose this series, since there's no guarantee we'll be able to give up any pick in the 23-26 range again to get rid of the Kovy penalty albatross. Heck, there's a decent chance it would be 25-26 even with a loss.

EDIT: Forgot about the fact we originally had two seconds this year, and gave up the Caps' second for Zidlicky. At least that doesn't look as costly as it did when the Caps were floundering and looked like they would miss.

Someone watch the Zajac OT goal video that DevilsHQ uploaded.

About 60s in, a near-ice mic picks up "____ open the door."

I know who I think is told to open the door, just wondering what you think.

Eh, id imagine all the Panthers were well off the ice and bench by then.

I figure someone is saying, "Heddy open the door!" since he does it all the time during game play.

You know, though, no one on this team likes each other. Full of haters.

I think it's actually the ice crew that the mic's picking up. You can see one of the guys behind the glass shouting "way to go boys" when the camera's on the team celebrating, and they're referring to the doors on the corner boards there.
