I'm surprised Erat didn't take it as he usually does on the left side. The icing is what got us in that position.

Hated to lose this one like that. Guys, this was exactly what Yotes did to the Hawks. Sat back, let Smith bail them out. Rinne with a sub-par performance. He, Rads, and Fish, to name a few have to be better Sunday. Good news is after Pekka loses giving up some softies he usually plays excellent for a while.

I did not expect Preds to sweep but it would be huge to win Sunday, needless to say. Now the staff has some video to breakdown maybe they can find more to exploit. Just realize as much as we can see it was there for the taking, the boys in the lockerroom feel it even more.

PT: Man they closed the game thread on the SC finals board so fast I had a big post typed up and before I could post BAM! This thread is closed.

I knew once Smith stopped about the 10th great chance in OT it was going to end in Phoenix's favor on some innocent play.

It sucks, but if we can keep that level of play, we've definitely got a chance to take the series.

FYI They close the GDT right away and redirect traffic to the series thread talk.

Doesn't surprise me. Watching the Preds play against the Coyotes in the regular season, the Coyotes seemed like a difficulty match up for the Preds and their style of play hard for the Preds to deal w/, especiallly their goalie Mike Smith who I believe has a better save percentage than Rinne. So I knew this series would be a tough series to win and would never underestimate this Coyote team.

Preds can't let them score easily in the first period and have got to score themselves first to keep the momentum going their way. Seemed like the Coyotes had the momentum while the Preds had to play catch up. Nice hussle by the Preds in the third to tie it up though. It was an exciting and hard fought game.

Just gotta keep telling and reminding ourselves that it is only one game, its only one game, its only one game...........

But man, losing in OT like that, at least in the moment it feels like the end of the world, even though it is definitely not.......

Plenty of examples why, such as St Louis losing to San Jose AT HOME in OT in game 1, and of course that was the last game they would lose.......

Like Mike Fisher but not his game tonight. Hope he plays better than he has been. SK also.

I've always thought Phoenix had a good team and a team playing at the highest level right now. Smith is playing out of his MIND!! I've said before the series started that it would go seven games and I still believe that. Some people taking the opponent lightly and this is something you do NOT do.

I think this series is going to be an uphill battle and probably a 7 game series imo. It's definitely not going to be like the Red Wings game. The Coyotes are a more physical team (their players all look so tall/big...lol) and they have snipers that can shot from the perimeter and score and their goalie makes it difficulty to score on. So I don't think this series will be a cakewalk. Coyotes may not be a big or well known team like say the Red Wings, Phil, Vancouver, etc but they are a tough team and it's not going to be easy to win against them imo. But the Preds can win against them. It just won't be easy imo. It's going to be a battle between the two teams and probably a long one. But at least it was a hard fought battle and the Preds seemed to have worked hard to tie up the game. They were giving alot of effort out there to try to score but were just one score behind. Hopefully they have a better start in the next game.

It's only 1 game and the 1st one. Preds fans are used to being the team that gets outshot and has Rinne bail them out and win it not the other way around. We've run into a hot goalie in Smith but we did score 3 goals on him. We just need to be better and not let them score 4.

Upon further review, we still played a good game. Need to get better at faceoffs, need to stop the no look passes, some players need to shoot the damn puck, but this series is far from over.

Let's go Predators!

Take the talk to series thread.
