At least none of them included Parise. Oh and i hope the Penguins drown along with Ms. Cindy when he hold his retirement presser in 3 years. Yeah that's mean, but i don't care, i still don't like him at all.

Crosby would never retire in 3 years. If he's able to play, he will play. If he's not able to play, he will sit on IR and collect his $10MM per year in actual salary.

He's a team player. I don't know if he would pull that. I bet he would retire.

AHL is adopting the hybrid-icing rule. They are testing it for its hopeful use in the NHL. Not to mention they are also using a new rule on touching the puck with your hand. 2-minute penalty for moving the puck with your hand during a face off and penalty for concealing the puck under a players hand at any time.

The test of the rule is at the request of the NHL and will be in effect until Nov. 19, 2012, at which time its continued use will be determined by the AHL's board of governors, the league announced Thursday.

The AHL also adopted two recent rule changes made in the NHL.

A player who "places his hand over the puck while it is on the ice in order to conceal it from or prevent an opponent from playing the puck" will be assessed a minor penalty.

Meanwhile, players who use their hands to bat the puck in an attempt to win a faceoff will also be assessed a two-minute infraction.

Every time I hear anything about icing rules the first thing that comes to my mind is the Foster incident. Just awful. The more recent Fedun incident was just terrible as well. Wish the NHL would just change it to hybrid icing already.

Isnt the AHL also going to test that new line they were gonna try to put in the defensive zone that you have to cross before you can make a two line pass in order to stop what effectively amounts to dumping the puck in from the end of your own zone, with someone tipping the puck at the opposing blue line?

As much of a team player as he is, I don't see him leaving $70+ million on the table. His salary is insured, no harm done.

I'm pretty sure they considered it but didn't decide to adopt it. We don't need any more lines on the ice. What does this look like, Europe? It's called the Ringette (sp?) line.

Well if that's the case, thank %deity%. The last thing I wanted was another damned line on the ice.

And that's a dumb name for a line.

but yeah, if they want to kill the long distance dump in, they should do it some other way.

Speaking of new rules and the AHL....didn't I read that the AHL was going to get rid of the trapezoid this season? Or did I imagine that?

That Landeskog - ROR - Downie line is going to suck to play against for the foreseeable future. Two really good young players and a bat**** crazy guy with some talent.

Moen has re-signed for 4 years with the Habs.

I guess we can officially say goodbye Staubitz.
