Gonna wait until I hear anything from a more reputable source.

Sounds anything but certain.

As we learned from the Vikings stadium, all negotiations start with the sides looking a million miles apart. They will figure it out by late summer training camp.

World might as well end in December if there's a lockout this year.

Sports Business Journal. I keep waiting for an article to be published to their site, but it looks like the league did file and that the NHLPA did notify the players.

So, Tambellini gets to keep himself?

Granted, I'm not a fan of Renney, but what did Tambellini/the front office expect with that sort of roster all this time? Certainly couldn't be anything more than year after year of #1 picks.

Dom Hasek is strongly considering un-retiring.

Yes, that Dom Hasek. The 47-year-old.

Wow. Will be weird seeing the Red Wings without #5. One of my favorite players ever.

Allright. Good for him.

Now hopefully we can watch the Wings fall apart like a perilous house of cards.

Suter might not want the pressure of filling the empty shoes that Lidstrom leaves behind. It will be impossible to live up to the fans' expectations.

That's the hope, yeah.

I wouldn't be so sure. The only reason anyone signs in the ****hole of a city that is Detroit is that they're a perennial contender. Taking away their Captain and the best D-man in the league doesn't exactly cement that status.

I can see why someone like Suter might relish the opportunity to step in and be "that guy", but I can also see why, say, being on a pairing with someone like Lidstrom would have been a bigger draw. It could really go either way.
