Boston Bruins Locker Cleanout

Hey Gang,

I haven't seen anything posted yet and heard it was today. I was hoping to get one thread with all the interviews, comments and pictures that come out of today.

Cheers

Patrice Bergeron played through a strained oblique muscle. Bergeron said he first felt the injury in Game 3. Bergeron aggravated the injury in Game 5, when he was limited to three third-period shifts.

Bergeron will not require surgery.

“It was probably 60 percent. I don’t know exactly. I’m not very good at that,” Bergeron said. “It was just hard to battle – reaching out and trying to battle when my arm was extended. I couldn’t get to full speed. It was always there.”

Bergeron also had a broken nose.

Thanks GW!

Ouch. Patrice was really beaten up. Two game seven Stanley Cup Finals goals come at a price.

Brad Marchand admitted that he had difficulty "getting up mentally" for the playoffs this year: "It just seemed different."

interesting...

Wow.

Of course it was different. Hope the boys find some new anger/hunger for next year. Would hate to see this group become complacent.

Emotions get used up and worn out, just as muscles do.

Time to rest and recharge. By October I'm sure they'll be raring to go.

Wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that last year they started off with Montreal and Philly two teams they had more than enough heat with, and this year they opened with Washington.

In a way, with how the Bruins seem to approach things, they might be the biggest beneficiaries of divisional playoffs.

I dont think anyone wants to hear stuff like this, says a lot about a players compete level, may just be because he is young and success came quickly to him last year, hope he refocuses this off season.

Anything about Lucic other than the Krecji 'thats bull' comment?

Marchand admitted it, but it looked like it was more than just Marchand having this problem.

Haggerty is decent when he sticks to facts, like if he used Marchand's name in a qoute like that you can be pretty sure Marchand actually said it.

Haggs loses a lot of credibility when he speculates things, and passes them off as gospel.

I like this:

Per Haggs Twitter:

Peter Chiarelli expects Nathan Horton is "on a full road to recovery" for next season. But also added he'll be in market for top 9 forward

Maybe what was different was he wasn't playing for a contract.

Come on, if you can't get up mentally for the first round of the play-offs I honestly don't want you on my team.

You made 2.5 million bucks this year Brad, suck it up and get your ****ing head into the game. Certainly had your head in the game before your raise.

Uh... what?

He quoted Marchand, it's not as though he's spinning anything here. Unless of course you're implying he simply made up/misconstrued Marchand's quote to fit his "agenda?"

So is Chiarelli still in denial about needing more scoring and a better PP? Top 6 forward is what I hope he gets.

Hopefully there's more to it because that sounds terrible. The only thing different was that his bank account was three times bigger.
