GDTs for the playoffs?

The main board has an NHL Playoffs forum that will include GDTs for each game.
Quote:
1) GDT's will be the responsibility of someone from the home team. We will be copying them over to here from the home team board. (GDT can/will be copied from the visting team if the moderators feel home team one doesn't appear to be a real GDT content wise.)
Do we want to organize our efforts a little and make a schedule? Sounds like there is a good chance our half-assed GDTs will be pre-empted by the opponent's material. Not sure that's a tragedy, but just thought I'd throw it out for discussion.

My work schedule is opening up a little so I should be able to make mine by 10A.M. on game days. However I am not skilled with photoshop or such so it will be a fairly basic presentation.

You may not have a lot of photoshop stuff in them, but your GDT's are FAR from basic.

Your GDT's are by far the best Blanick. Mine are about as unprofessional as they get(besides of course the glorious half-assed ones). I like to think of mine as more like 3/4th assed.

However, I'll be happy to help or fill in if you need me to.

So our GDTs are going to have fans from the opposing team in it? That should be fun to moderate!

It's probably a good idea that we put together decent GDTs though so they're not taken away by the away team. Thanks for doing it Blanick!

I might be able to help in the Photoshop part of the GDT. I could do a few these that Blanick could use. I could just pm a link to the graphic.

Quick question for a mod...

Since the home team thread will get posted on a neutral section of the forum should I leave out little "shots" at the opponent so not to start a flame war right off the bat.

It would be nothing too bad just something like

This GDT brought to you by the terrible ice of the Scottrade center annnnd Stanchions.

Realize that other moderators are policing that forum. Here's the guidelines they've given.

Just to clarify: we'll still have our regular GDTs here, and this is a better place for partisan complaints. The neutral GDTs are meant to be accessible to fans from the whole league.

If you are at all concerned about doing something, then I would say refrain. If you want to make those jokes here then that is fine (assuming it follows site rules), but the main boards get ridiculous especially come playoff time. If anything going to the main board thread and team threads will generate some strong anger and frustration. I would tend to stay away from those.

Thank you for clarifying. I was about to ask the same question you're answering. Glad to know we still have a home.

I like the GDT`s you make. They dont have to be full of links to journalists who dont even have an article out if you ask me I dont know why that has to be in them.

But last time I said anything on this I sort of got blasted so Im taking my chances I guess with this.

I do GDTs for another forum. I could just copy and paste them here. They're not real fancy, though. I only have game one done, since I don't know who is starting in goal yet

Here's game one, for example:

The colors on the Blues and Sharks names are as close to the real colors as I could get them. The sharks main color is deep pacific teal, and there doesn't seem to be an HTML code for that. I used the secondary colors as well. I just blue and navy and yellow and gold for the Blues as well as all the Sharks colors.

My GDTs are more plain. I don't do photoshop or anything like that. I do make my own avatars, though they're still simple. Mine right now is Shatty wearing the weiner hat. I had a hard time deciding between that picture and the one of Steen holding a puppy.

We should make clever sarcastic puns for out titles. Slushfest 2012, Return of the Stanchions, The Trap Strikes Back, etc.

I'm always a supporter of "We're better than you na-na na-na boo-boo stick your head in ***-***." Although any reference to Tosh will probably be frowned upon.

I was down for all that but after realizing that the home teams GDT would be copied onto the Stanley Cup Playoffs forum I decided I wouldn't since it would probably start a flame war right off the bat and cause too much trouble for mods. Maybe I will do it for the road games.

I have spent all morning working on the game 1 GDT. Had to up my a game a little bit for the playoffs.
