Marijuana can be in your system for around 3 months if you are a habitual (daily) smoker. I think in Adams case, he might have smoked some with some friends just once or twice in the past few weeks, thought he would be able to get past the combine without a positive test and told the teams that he hasn't smoked since his last positive test.

Many factors can go into how your body absorbs the drug and how long the traces last in your system (height, weight, metabolism, length of use, positive test prevention measures, etc).

Was he stupid for lying? Well, sure, only because he got caught. Had he lied, passed the test, he would have gone in the 1st.

He was getting drafted somewhere in the 2nd/3rd rounds, but he poured his heart out to teams and even more so to Pittsburgh Steelers (as he grew up a fan in eastern Ohio) and at least one team felt he did enough (deferring signing bonus and probably many other contract clauses) to warrant the pick.

He is innocent until proven guilty of everything going forward, but to immediately say he is guilty until he shows he can make it through a career unscathed is just demeaning to the kid.

Lacanfora (I think) said Adams could be a better tackle than Kalil when all is said and done.

I think the trade was more due to position scarcity than anything. How many other space eaters are there after Taamu and Chapman? Like I said, if they liked Taamu I would have thought they would grab him at 3 then Spence at 4.

Chris Rainey - here's the running back and wide receiver in the same pick!

Chris Rainey, Florida.

Actually have watched this player, he could be a good pick.

Interesting pick there. Especially if he's training for the Olympics this offseason. He could be a fun weapon though and I have more faith in Haley to make use of him that Arians.

Rainey's always looked better at WR than RB, but he's got a lot of talent. Lots of potential on special teams as well. Solid pick.

Living in FL, I watched Rainey few times. He's small like 5'8" but very fast (4.3 in 40). He can catch and also does punt returns.

at the bare minimum he takes Antonio Brown off return duty, which is essential now that AB is the #2 WR. smart pick in that respect.

ha Rainey lived with the Pouncey family in high school!

If he ****ed up once...yeah, everyone deserves 2nd chances. He's on his 4th or 5th chance. His work ethic has been questioned all through college.

Not sure I understand the Rainey pick. Will be fun to watch at least.

Rainey and Ben should get along, Rainey was arrested for stalking once.

An interesting fact about Rainey, to give you an idea of how fast he is...he beat Jeff Demps in a 40 competition. Jeff Demps, if you're unaware, holds the high school 100 meter record and is an Olympic calibre athlete.

Just like with Wallace you can not teach speed. And the kid can play, he is not just a track star that they threw pads on. He is small, very small, so there are some concerns, but what do you want in the fifth? He certainly is worth rolling the dice on.

He sent harassing texts to an ex as a 19 year old.

I see that **** everyday working in a college town.

Apparently TIOPS has a good piece on Adams with some nice quotes from him on there.

I compare him to Darren Sproles. He wont be a feature back but does a lot of things for us.

Tomlin on BSPN

-DeCastro: we liked all elements of DeCastro's game. his leadership. excited he was there.
-Adams: he called the team, admitted to lying, gave him opportunity to meet stipulations, he has already met them. he has first round pedigree. not necessarily impressed that he came to the Steelers, but did appreciate that he was proactive, only become comfortable after he met stipulations.
-Rainey: 'young man type issues.' but he's show a pattern of mature behavior in the last 12 months. excited about skill set. in the backfield, return game, out of the backfield.
-Haley: all tomlinisms - balance, efficiency. great that Haely grew up a steelers fan. bleeds black and gold.
-Wallace: fans should know Mike is a great guy and a great worker. he loves his team.

Let me guess, it was Crosby he stalked. Because, that is how we roll up here.
