At the game, was surprised to see the Fox banner. Didn't think we would have a National game, especially vs. a weak Cubs team.

Seriously? A national Pirates game against a AAA team?

Holy bleep, the Pirates are the 'better team' in a nationally televised game.

Not to be a jerk, but doesn't Correia usually fall apart if they try and stretch him out to 7 innings?

Yup, always. He's lucky that the defense and Lincoln bailed him out tonight.

Also, note that Hurdle let Correia bat and then pulled him after facing two hitters the next inning. Truly a genius managerial move.

That was an awesome three-pitcher inning, and it wouldn't have been possible without Correia staying in to get the first out and walk a guy. Hurdle should do that more often.

Damn this offense blows. These ground outs repeatedly are the weakest ever. They don't even challenge fielders.

Leave it to the Buccos to win on a walk-off HBP. Hahaha. Raise it.

McDonald's stuff has never been an issue, he had the best stuff on the staff last year, his command/control and pitchability have been the questions. I stated his velocity because he certainly doesn't sit in the mid 90s. Lastly, it has been 9 starts. Yes, he has shown improvements, but it has been <1/3 of the season. If everyone was counted as a " " starter off their best stretches of 9 starts, I would hazard a lot of pitchers would be considered 1s and 2s.

I'm pretty sure that Fox has to televise all of the games for this new Saturday night game gig to the home markets. We got the Red Sox here in Maryland and I couldn't even find a euro stream on line.

Sucks that I pay to watch the Bucs on the DirecTV package and all summer I'm blacked out on Saturday nights.
