First shift: Colaiacovo backs in on a 1 on 2 to the faceoff dot, luckily blocks the shot, and has to hobble to the bench. Heh.

Puck movement is going to have to be faster than that if the Blues hope to have success on the PP this series. Kings will find a way to apply pressure even when the offense has the puck on their stick fully under control. Wait more than a few seconds and you won't have any options available anymore.

Willie Mitchell is a guy the Blues have to grind down a bit over the course of the series or he's going to be grinding down the Blues.

Colaiacovo's problem is that he's made out of Colaiacovo.

KMOX has left the game completely to spend 10 minutes recounting the storm news. Why???

Your evaluations of our players are always spot on!

Anyway, overall I think I like what I'm seeing so far. Looks like the Blues came to play. Hopefully they keep it up.

Has he taken a single hit or blocked a single shot this year after which he didn't hobble off, even if he was out there the next shift? Lowest pain threshold ever.

It didn't look like Perron got it. The puck would have flattened out or wobbled even more if he did.

That's the recipe, and they have worked on it. Petro shooting from the point and a double slot presence, one high, one low. You have to do that to beat all the goalies they're going to be facing. Tips and screens. Backes is going to be in front of Quick all series. Berglund too.

Almost another! I really like the way The Blues are playing in the offensive zone.

Thank goodness The Kings didn't lift the puck while Elliott was sprawled!

I've criticized Colaiacovo but so far I like how he's quick and crisp in his own zone tonight. The Blues have generally moved the puck out with the right decision and immediately. Great start but momentum can swing so fast in the playoffs. Keep it up, boys.
