and some thought he was a great offensive d-man. so far in the swedish league he has 1 pt in ten games. seems he's out to break a record for least pts by a nhl so called best d-man. funny how his name hasn't popped up lately. now we know why.

He's supposed to be off the team for todays game. At least that's what the papers were writing this morning. Both he and Anders Eriksson have been huge disappointments.

Mr. Mccabe, is presently sitting out the rest of his life... because he will never play under a cap or cost certainty, cut him some slack guys.

Give the guy a break, he has a new hairdo, its not clicking for him. Wait till he has the mohawk..then they will fear BRYAN MCCABE!!!
McCabe & Boucher leaves HV 71
12/11/2004 | Johan Nilsson
Bryan McCabe has been criticized for his poor play with HV 71 and some fans have called him worthless. After 10 games he had 1 assist and was -12. It was announced before today's game against Södertälje that McCabe was going to sit on the bench as the extra defenseman, due to his poor play.
This means nothing, except that he can't play on the larger ice surface.
I'm glad to see guys like Turco,McCabe and Boucher heading home from the european teams. The more the better.
If these players are unhappy or unable to play in europe,it means they'll be sitting home during the lockout, hopefully getting antsy about not playing.

I agree.
European leagues aren't "easy" to play in... I'm sure a lot of these guys thought they were going to dominate, but they struggled and have nowhere to go.

Yeah, he obviously sucks because of some meaningless Swedish League games.

I guess Pavel Rosa is the best player, according to your theory.
I think McCabe isn't really putting effort into his play, he lacks effort and desire, the bigger ice surface also doesn't help McCabe.

I saw McCabe in 4-5 games in SEL and i have to say that he seems to lack the hockeysense and hands required to pass the puck on the big surface. Every time he tried to pass the puck a bit longer from defensive zone, he failed. In the offensive zone he seems to do better with the puck. I like his physical presence and his shot, but that was about it. At first when he signed with HV71 i was thrilled of having him in SEL, but then after seeing him play those games i was really disappointed.

I'm kind of surprised, but I don't think he's ever played on the large ice surface. And with the lack of hitting, etc... in the Swedish league, I guess he became less affective.

I think he really suffered because of the big ice(naturally) and the redline offside.
Don´t get angry at me now people, but i honestly believe it requires less hockeysense for defensemen on the smaller rinks you over there, as you can always go over redline and dump the puck into the offensive zone.

yup, exactly, even though i hate the guy, he's not a terrible D-man, just cant handle the larger ice-surface. it's kinda like the CFL & NFL, people say the NFL is better, but i bet you 90% of the players in the N couldnt handle the CFL field
And guys like Lukowich couldn't even hack the CHL.
Guys are quitting all over the place. It just shows how spoiled they are. And how ludicrous all this "we'll just go work in Europe or start our own league" crap is.

I agree with what you're saying to a degree but I'm willing to bet that over 95% of the NFL players could handle the CFL field...
