White rice are simple carbs and make you hungrier much faster than complex carbs, so you'll be eating more throughout the day, making you fatter.

But no, Korean food is the ****. It won't make you fat, especially those tiny portions of rice. Kimchi, mother****ers!

But it's harder to load up on calories throughout the day eating rice, even if you get hungry faster (although I haven't felt that way when I eat rice with dinner). idk when I have rice in my diet my weight goes down compared to if I eat other foods.

Rice doesn't have much calories, not like potatoes or whatever. Still, brown rice is better. Don't know why Asian cultures prefer white rice.

Better for you, yes.

Taste, I've tried switching to brown rice and I just can't do it. I don't like how it tastes and don't like the texture as much.

White rice doesn't taste like anything, especially the way it's cooked in Asian cuisines.

I hate brown rice because of the texture.

it has taste, and it's more about how it soaks up flavors. It's much more effective at soaking up flavors than brown rice is. Texture is better too. Pretty much the only thing brown rice is better at is being more healthy.

I agree, white rice is far superior in every way except for health

I guess it depends on how you're eating. If I'm home, I always leave the meat for "desert" 'cause I don't like mixing flavors, so it's not a problem for me, and since I will eat rice by itself, I'd prefer it to taste like something.

That's like saying how can you get fat by eating food.

You get fat by eating a lot of it, and not exercising. Like I've managed to do

I guess it depends on where you're eating the rice, or how you're cooking it. The rice I make at home isn't that special, but the rice I eat at some Korean restaurants, or the rice they give you at Ono Hawaiian BBQ is delicious.

Hmm, the opposite for me. I don't like "snowball" rice quality that is served in restaurants.

Lots of restaurants don't take very much pride in their rice quality, some do. You can usually tell how good a restaurant is by how good their rice is.

Also, Cambodia grows the best rice.

Yeah my dad used to carbo load a ton before his 100 mile races. He still does it if he does stuff over a marathon but not like the 100's. (his last 100 was in like... 06, or 07, I helped pace him the last 15 miles )

Imagine if where you live smelled like bacon all the time. Like all the time. I feel sick to my stomach just walking by their room.
