$3.967 cap hit over the next 6 years? GMGM wins again.

I thought the price would be close to that on a 2-3 year deal, glad to see some term at that price bracket. A little overpaid for what he's done so far, but these long term 2nd contracts that "pay for potential" seem to be the new standard for higher profile players.

Pretty long contract for such a low cap hit. I like it.

Would've been terrible on a short-term deal...great on a long-term one though.

Exactly. Can't simply look at the dollars, because they're over-paying him in his RFA years in order to get really good risk/reward value in his UFA years. Not comparable to Alzner's contract in that respect.

I love it. No matter what happens in the next CBA, this is a good contract.

He played great hockey in the playoffs. If he continues to play like that I consider this a heckuva deal. Surprised GMGM got that term. Nice work.

Good deal! Now let's hope "sophomore slump" Carlson is gone for good.

I thought it would be $3.5M on a short-term deal.

Very happy with the numbers.

24 players (13 F, 9 D, 2 G) signed at ~$63.6M (including Poti). No one left to sign.

Poti to whatever injury reserve and Schultz to the moon would get it down to the 22 at ~$57M

Meh. I don't think there will be much of a season, if any, so there's little enthusiasm about this. Besides, I hope they're buying the Carlson of year one and not the fake Carlson from last year.

Not much else to be excited about with this team. Right now they are a 7-8 seed maybe is my guess. Could miss the playoffs althogether. If there's a season. Meh.

That fair. I thought we'd see a 3-4yr deal for about 2.5m per. So I dont mind the extra coin for the 6 years. This seems fair to both sides, as the duration is a good deal for DC

Nice deal. Another key player signed long term and that at good Dollars.

If I would be Alzner so I would be a bit angry. So GMGM get Alzner extended before the lockout.

Than despite missing out on big name UFA good summer by GMGM

Nice. Sort of academic at 8pm EDT on September 14th, but still nice.
