And, Rex throwing interceptions, you say? Shocking.
For a rookie in his 1st pre-season game, Griffin looked good. He didn't stair down his receivers from what I can tell, and he checked down his progressions a couple times. Room for improvement to be sure, but he did look good in the pocket. Poised.
The Rookie Gettis and Polumbus looked good to. Royster had some good runs behind them.
Also very pleased with what I saw in Garcon. Just like with RH, I was struck by how big he looks. He made some good catches and definetly looks like #1 WR. Could do without his flip into the endzone on his screen pass TD. Unnecessary.
His stats were good but what was most important to me is what Griffin looked like in the pocket. He didn't look like a 10 year vet, but he didn't look lost or nervous. Sure it was the 1st preseason game but the Bills brought pressure and the kid didn't look flustered. Now Griffin needs to show improvement in game 2.
They've got a lot of winnable games, but like I said last season when they started well...they're thin, so injuries will likely doom them. I'll go with 7-9, but I think they'll have chances to do more.
George McPhee....The Teflon GM. 15 years of failure and counting....
6 - Number of playoff series the Capitals have won since George McPhee took over as General Manager in 1997 (which makes him the third-longest-tenured GM in the League), three of which came in McPhee's first season on the job.
