I wonder how many teams are a man short now. IIRC we are still at 52. Maybe it will be Slaton.
Skins should be at 53. They picked up a CB off the scrap heap that took Jackson's spot. If Slaton is added I would think it would be after Week #1. Vet contracts aren't garunteed after Week #1 and that will also give Royster, Helu, and Morris the chance to show if they can handle the load.
Good to see BBanks getting some positive pub...and more importantly praise from Shanny.
It is nice, and hopefully it is a sign that Banks will actually be used on Offense on a regular basis. I only have a problem with Banks on the roster if he solely returns kicks/punts. If he is used regularly on screens, reverses, and a deep ball or two I will be more than happy. He can be a game changer if used right. Just hope the little guy is up to the physical challenge.
Shanahan has made a living off of garbage backs and undersized linemen. At least he has 2 strong Achilles.
I saw someone post on ES that perhaps the reason we get so many blocked kicks is because our undersized linemen get blown up on FG pro. Being mobile doesnt help on the FG unit.
Heard on 980 that Slaton's agent hasn't heard from the Skins since the trade fell threw. Also, Hightower vows to return to the Skins at some point this season. Doesn't seem like a good sign for Slaton.
And Royster has changed his number from #35 back to his old college number of #2. Make note.

Not here.

And I made sure I grabbed Alfred Morris in all my fantasy teams.
Hightower, Helu, and Royster all showed something in their small samples. I've followed Royster since his high school days and on to PSU. He isn't physical enough to run between the tackles and run through contact, he also isn't quick enough to hit holes with a good burst on stretch runs. His pass protection and his receiving is nothing special either.
That said there isn't much to choose from. Helu is hobbled and I doubt you want to open the year with a rookie, even though he had the best preseason among the RB's. Morris is definitely intriguing as the season progresses, if he corrected the fumbling issues he's had in college he could be the complete every down back for the team.
Royster has the first go, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Morris get a lot of carries if Royster can't deliver on 1st and 2nd down. Rookie or not. Helu still has a chance to develop into an every down back, but for now he seems better suited as a 3rd down RB until he gets used to the NFL and learns to take care of himself.
Yes the seondary is a huge question mark. Means the front 7 needs to dominate, especially against a QB like Brees. They have their work cut out for them.
So assuming it's another lackluster season, how long until you say enough with Shanahan? I've not really been impressed with his first 2 seasons, but to be fair, he didn't have a lot to work with, and his supporters claim he had a lot of cleaning up to do from Cerrato. If the team goes 4-12 or 5-11, is his job in jeopardy?
No its not. Shanahan told LiL Danny not to hire him if he wasn't willing to give Shanahan 5 years to rebuild the team. He is half way threw said rebuild, and the addition of Griffin garuntee's Shanahan sees the end of his contract, IMO.

His fate is tied to RGIII, without question. I've long been tired of Shanahan, but I appreciate the bold move he made to get a potential franchise QB.
His nepotism and his son's incompetence at handling the McNabb situation cost him my support.
I'm not convinced he's committed to the rebuild, either, given his actions managing this team. A lot of his moves reek of a quick and easy fix. At least this off-season he finally went for youth, even if he overpaid to get it and left plenty of pretty large questions all around the roster.

Would love to know who wanted that McNabb trade in that power circle. Honestly when the Eagles cut someone lose of McNabbs status something is up.
