I am glad to see adam back. He always fit in with the bolts really well. Im not surprised to see wyman resigned. I had figured we would either sign him or wallace. I thought wallace had a little more upside, but they both seemed similar in the end. glad to see both of these got done.

Boo, don't mind Wyman was hoping for someone with more size than Hall or sign Wallace. Maybe SY is gonna trade Hall at the deadline and get the 3rd we are losing in the Lindback deal back.

Defenseman Jean-Philippe Cote has signed a two-year deal AHL deal that could make him an anchor on the Syracuse Crunch's blueline.
http://blog.syracuse.com/crunch/2012...an_cote_i.html
Quote:
"It's been a good run for all of us,'' he said of the ex-Admirals. "I'm sure it will be hard to put the same pieces together. But a majority of us are proud to wear Crunch uniforms. It's hard for us to turn the page. But we have to step up to the plate and play hard. I know as soon as you get all of them together, you are going to want to win.''
Quote:
Cote was comfortable committing to a 2-year deal because of his relationship with TB assistant GM Julien BriseBois, who was GM in Hamilton when Cote played there.

"I have a lot of trust in the organization,'' Cote said of TB. "Julien brought me here last year. He gave me a chance. I was looking forward to this summer, just to have this contract right now. I couldn't turn it down.''
Quote:
Cote, who wore an "A'' in both Hamilton and Norfolk, said he's comfortable being a minor-league leader for younger players.

"Anything they learned from me, down the road...that's a win for me,'' he said. "I know my role. I know what my place is.''

Some on the main board who were NJ fans were saying he may even step in and play for the big club now. I dunno we got a lot of hungry Calder champs ready to make the move. Should be a hell of a camp to watch these young guys battle it out for the final D spots.

Veteran defenseman Matt Taormina said he had more teams than he expected pursuing him as a free agent this off-season.

One of the biggest reasons he decided to leave the New Jersey organization and sign a one-year, two-way deal with Tampa Bay was his long relationship with former Norfolk coach Jon Cooper. Taormina played for Cooper with Taxarkana of the NAHL in 2004-05, and that was one of the factors working in the Lightning's factor.

"I have known him really well. It definitely was one of the reasons that persuaded me to go there,'' Taormina said Friday night from his home in Michigan. "I know how he runs his team. I know how well liked (he is). He's won wherever he's went.''
Quote:
He said he hopes to get an extended look from the Lightning this preseason, but understands he will also get a lot of time in Syracuse.

"I would expect I'd have to have a good camp, turn some heads in that organization. I know I have to prove myself again,'' said Taormina, who produced 50 points for Lowell three seasons ago. "I just have to work hard and play the right role. I'm just trying to bring some offense to the table. I feel like right now I can play at the NHL level.''

With checking out the Main Boards about us signing Taormina.

I was very glad to see the positive response by the Jersey Fans,
mostly saying Taormina is a good signing.

Unlike Philly Pharts telling us it was a bum deal signing Matt Carle.

No, the Lightning signing Matt ****ing Carle is the worst, if not, definitely in the top ten worst trades of all time.

People on the main boards scare me. Sheesh.

I'm not sure if your serious or not. Your statement makes no sense, how is our signing of Carle one of the top ten worst trades of all time? When we're in the playoffs the next several yeas and potentially winning a cup I'm sure the signing will look like a bargain.

Haha, I'm not, I was mocking someone on the main boards who said that

So one or two of Taormina, Mikkelson, or Aulie will be in the AHL next year. If it is Aulie then he will be there all year, as I do not think he will pass through waivers.

So my guess it will be Mikkelson riding the bus.

I'm pretty sure Aulie has to pass through waivers in order to get to Syracuse in the first place.

Every year there's a few days where the waiver wire gets absolutely swamped as teams have to get their rosters in compliance with league rules. If he gets listed amongst them, just on brute force, he should make it through.

But SFY's never been scared of no waivers.

Its risky but it can be done, if they wait until the absolute last minute and most rosters are all set. That'd force someone to give up a roster player to make room for Aulie, and they would have to leave him on the big club as if they try to pass him through again and to the AHL, we get first dibs on taking him back. In some ways its a win-win, either way we would be getting a roster player.

I really don't think Aulie has to clear waivers.

I know it's been reported that he would have to clear waivers if he gets assigned to Syracuse, but I am having a hard time understanding how.

Some info on Aulie:
signed his first contract at 19. (January 2009)
played 2 seasons in the NHL. (He didn't play any NHL games his first season)
played in 76 NHL games.

Based off this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NHL_sal...r_waivers_only

In order for him to have to pass through waivers:
- He needs to play at least 160 NHL games
- Or be sent down after 4 seasons since signing his NHL contract

He's played in less than 160 NHL games.
This is only his 3rd season after signing his NHL contract

Am I missing something? If anybody could explain to me why he has to clear waivers, it would be much appreciated.
