I don't give a **** who scores goals, as long as they're scored.

I wouldnt mind seeing Commodore back at the 700K range. One thing that our defense does lack is experience, and Commodore seemed to fit our system well enough. Plus he is a cool guy all around.

What would you guys want from the Rangers for Lecavalier?

Pieces I'm willing to move:

Gaborik
Del Zotto
Dubinsky
Anisimov
Boyle
The following prospects: Miller, Thomas, McIlrath, Fast
Draft picks

Would any combination of the above get it done / be worth it for you guys?

Lecavalier's contract goes til 2020 I believe, when he'd turn 40. His production has been on the decline the past few years, but I think he could benefit from a change of scenery and even a transition to the wing. Thoughts?

Not available: Lundqvist, Kreider, McDonagh, Staal, Girardi, Richards, Callahan, Hagelin

Not looking for a flame fest. If I'm way off base and Vinny simply isn't available for the players I listed, then my apologies. It's a long offseason, hehe. Just trying to gauge values and potential trade targets as the Rangers need to add top line talent and I'm not sold on Rick Nash. Thanks.

There is plenty there value wise to get Vinny IMO. But Vinny just isnt going to be traded. For so many reasons. Hes just not.

You could offer all your unavailable's and we'd probably say no. Like sniper said we aren't trading Vinny, we don't wanna be a d bag franchise that treats are stars like ****. Vinny too valuable to the team and community. What would you want for McIllrath though? He's big RH and nasty, if we had him and Aullie on a pair opposing players would **** themselves.

While the main reason for not giving him up is lack of an adequate replacement at the moment, I don't think some in the front office are as enamored with Vinny as people around here think. For the right package he could be had. Miller, Erixon, del Zotto would look awfully nice on forum ice.

Agreed wholeheartedly.

And disagree with the statement that it makes management look like **** to trade Vinny. It's managements job to improve the team, not bow down to fans wishes to keep favorites. If, and it's a big big if, a suitable return could be had that would make the Lightning a better team, you have to do it.

You think this because...?

Vinny has the final word on that.

Pipe-dream, although if there is a team I could see Vinny waiving his NMC for, it's the Rangers (given he could be re-united w/ Richards, proximity to hometown, chance at Cup). Put yourself in Sather's shoes, though: would you make that trade? I know I wouldn't.

Far more likely to see a sizeable contract coming back and given you don't want to create a hole you can't adequately fill, you're probably looking at Dubinsky and a pick or prospect (not named Miller, Kreider or Erixon) as the return. If so, you have to wonder if that is worth upsetting the apple-cart.

I dont think Vinny is going anywhere unless that Amnesty clause is in the next CBA. First off I dont think anybody would take that ridiculous contract. 2 He has the final decision anyways and was already told by Yzerman that they wouldnt trade him. I dont see Yzerman being a guy who would lie about something like that unless okd by Vinny. I dont think he wants to go anywhere else. Tampa is perfect for him. Not a whole lot of pressure on him here. Nice weather and city. Won a cup here. I just dont see it.

Let him think we're reuniting him with Richards...but really we're swapping him for Richards.

They are not done yet, but Chris Kelly and Gregory Campbell are closing in on new multi-year deals with BOS. Both are UFA on July 1.

Circumstantial likelihood, IMO. If Suter and Garrison re-sign with NSH and FLA, I think it becomes a hell of a lot more likely. DET is a wild card, too: if Holland can't get Suter in the Motor City, he may go hard after Carle.

Wouldn't mind it. I always thought he just wasn't the right fit in Philly. As in he had a little too much responsibility, he's not the kind of guy I would put next to Pronger or Timonen and ask to play a shutdown role.

My fantasy for next season.
I don't hate it. I'm not a big fan of Wideman, but UFA pickins are slim. I bet he'll easily be able to get at least 5mil a yr though.

Chris Kelly just got 4mil a yr without hitting the open market, I bet Stoll will pull in at least that, and somebody will probably overpay to get him.
EDIT: I had bad info, Kelley is getting a 4yr/12mil deal, not a 3yr/12mil deal. Cap hit is 3mil a year. I still think Stoll will get 4mil though.

I'd expect Conacher to earn a spot somewhere on the roster as well.

I'd do that lines a bit differently too. (example: swap Hedman and Brewer)

I'm thinking Yzerman will probably try and trade for a complementary guy for Hedman, rather than overpay for a UFA. Anyone know of any right handed top 4 dmen whose teams might be looking to trade on the cheap?

Are we expecting Hall back? Almost let him walk last year it looked like, and we have a few other 4th line options that worked pretty well (Wyman, Wallace, maybe Labrie?).
