as far as his play goes right now..against all of the other defenseman on the roster at this moment. 2 games into his NHL career.. I would say he has been one of if not our best defenseman in those 2 games.

He clearly fits here and his future excites me a ton.

I might get flamed for this question but I will ask anyways. Any chance Brodin can make Team Finland next year?

Oops, sorry Jonas I meant to say Sweden. XD

If the Wild don't make the playoffs, I'd say he has a pretty good chance of making Sweden's roster.

He'd probably be #1 D-man in Finland's roster though.

I think he's talking about the Olympics. And someone's going to have to replace Lidström, right?

Ah, then, well, I don't know.

He has an outside chance, but that'd require him to play lights out.

Yeah, a outside chance sounds about right. It's crazy to ask the question because last week we were debating if he should stay in Houston. I believe the worlds would a tryout of sorts for him. Then he would need to add like 10 pounds of muscle to hang with the big boys over the summer. Then kill it the first two months of next season.

Doubt it for the Olympics. There's a lot of good Swedish defensemen:

Karlsson
Kronwall
Ekman-Larsson
Adam Larsson
Hedman
Enstrom
Edler
Rundblad
Klfeblom

Rundblad has been sub-par at best since he came over to the states. Brodin could also beat out Klefbom easily enough, I think. So Brodin could be in line for the #8 guy, perhaps #7 if Enstrom's injury problems keep coming up.

If Brodin keeps up his play I could see him sneak on as a bottom-pair/extra shut down D.

Olympics.

1st pairing: JoBro - Karlsson.

Mark my words.

I'm humongously positive today. Weird.

Considering Brodin will be on the top pairing at age 19 three games into his NHL career...I'm not going to bet against him

There are also guys like Tallinder, Murray, Oduya, Ercisson, Grossman, Gunnarsson and Hjalmarsson.

Boom.

And I said just a few hours ago that "I'd like to see Brodin on the 1st pairing, but it's probably too early". Looks like I was wrong.

Scandella - Gilbert and Falk - Stoner, then?

I like it!

As long as these guys don't quit on plays, and get out of position all the time we should do just fine with that. Shift Stoner to bottom pairing when the little guy gets back, and let Falk be the spare.

I wish we could somehow bump off Prosser...

I wonder if we'd use one of our compliance buyouts on somebody making $825,000

Maybe there's a team desperate enough to claim him off waivers.

We should've traded him to Vanny before the grabbed Barker.
