What do you think his offensive impact will be this season? I figure if he's paired with Suter, he's bound to get some offensive chances, and likely #1/2 PP time.
I think most Wild fans came into the season with low expectations of his offensive output (based primarily on his historical numbers)...but after watching him the past few games, I'm starting raise my expectations a bit.

Right now he's on the #2 PP unit. Taking some shots, isn't afraid to be involved in the O-zone. Not sure if he'll stay on the PP when Spurgeon gets back.

For a young d-man with elite skating skills, I always figured that if he had the defense side of his game down, the offense would come.

He is only 19, already has more positional awareness than the majority of NHLers. The kid is going to be awesome, in all aspects.

I think he'll end up around 10-15 points for the shortened season. Probably something like 2g-11a. 25+ is definitely within reach for him next year.

I think that's a fair estimate.

He's going to make Lidstrom look like a chump

Really though, I could see him getting 15 or so points fairly easily. He has way more offensive instinct than I would have guessed.

I'm expecting closer to 15-20 points from him this season. I think the more comfortable he gets with the team and NHL pace the more we are going to be blown away by what he does.

It's amazing how much of an impression he's made in only three games. The hype machine was so focused on Granlund this year that people weren't exactly expecting Brodin to make that much of an impact. To see what he's been doing as a teenager in only 3 games is very impressive and I can't wait to watch his game develop here.

It's way too scary to compare anyone with Lidström... yet.

But so far... Teppo Numminen 2.0

He's gotten an assist in each of the last two games right?

And, hit the post the other night as well.

Didn't get an assist against St. Louis. One against Detroit the game before that, and one yesterday.

Also noteworthy? Brodin is the first 1st rounder to make an NHL impact since........................Brent Burns in 2003. Wow that shocking.
That's amazing and sad.

Yeah, I know that players have a tendency to do that....it's kind of a familiarity thing, and it probably makes it easier to communicate on the ice...Never really heard fans do the same, though.

And I've never heard a member of the Wild can Brodin "bacon".
It's not for the sake of the fans. Communication I'd say is #1 when you're screaming on the ice. Kind of like when you're yelling for your dog.

I'll say this, all reports were that he didn't have a great shot coming out of the draft and he admitted that, but his shooting has looked GORGEOUS. That was the one question mark for me and surprisingly he's answered pretty well. He hit a pipe off a one-timer (BEAUTY shot) and last night had a great shot that led to a goal off the rebound.

I have no idea points wise...maybe in a full season 5 goals give or take depending on PP time and anywhere from 20 to 40 points? I don't think he'll hit Karlsson numbers, but he looks like a top 30-45 defenseman in terms of points to me.

And we've seen a lot of terrible defensemen come through this team.

That going to be interesting. I'm sure Yeo isn't losing sleep with this problem. Also who will get the coveted pairing with Suter? Brodin has looked good, and we know we get with Spurgeon. It may not just come down how good these two guys play, but also whom Suter thrives with best. Only one game against a pretty weak offensive team, but Suter's best game was paired with Chicken Fried Bacon. I think tonight will be a better litmus test against a talented club.

If he can bring up points in the 30-45 catergory every full season... Well... That works just fine..

I was excited to see Granlund and Coyle this year. I was thinking Brodin will be cool too, but he'll mostly be kind of quite, trying to be that good stay at home d that goes unnoticed.

I don't know where they found this kid, and how he made it to the 10 spot the year they drafted him, but DAAAAAMN! He is truly impressive.

By far the best rookie I have seen on this team since Gabby. I hope he continues to develop and does not suffer any significant setbacks.

Watching him play is truly astounding, and this kid is 19...
