Dustin Brown was toughened up by Sean "Look at me, I am dressed like a women picked my clothes" Avery. Dustin Brown would smack the **** out of him.
That video is FABULOUS!
I really think there is some truth to that, Dustin had to endure some really bad crap from Avery and came out the better man and realizes things that won't kill me will only make me stronger.
This fanbase is generally a pretty cynical one, but there comes a point where your eyes tell you that what you're used to seeing may just not happen. If you don't believe this team can do that, you probably should start. Just sayin'.
I'm starting to believe that the Flames fans were right about Suttar as a coach and I was wrong. I can see how his press conference style didn't work in Canada, but I love him for LA. He fits in with LA and he has every single player that plays for the Kings playing as a team. He has the team more focused than Murray could ever get them.
I was so tired of Murray's system that I was blinded by Sutter's "defense-only" reputation, but I believe Sutter has learned that the NHL has changed and he has the Kings playing a much higher pressure and possession game than I thought they would with him as the coach. Much like how Hitchcock has the Blues playing. It's not a passive defense first system like Murray's, it's a "you can't score against us if you don't have the puck and have fun scoring from the outside" defense first system. Lots of pressure all over the ice, especially on the PK.
I was way more nervous during the Vancouver series because I was just waiting for the Kings to "choke", but it never happened. Now I'm starting to expect the Kings to win and that is almost as scary. Even when the Blues scored first, I wasn't panicking. You expect the home team to score first in game 1, it's how you respond that matters. Just like in game one against Vancouver, the Kings tied it up before the end of the period and never looked back.
Quick and Brown are in full beast mode and I couldn't be happier.
Great game! I couldn't really post tonight cause I was busy with a test, but I watched the game at the same time.
My dad is horrified by our power play, but whatever, I'm horrified by his team's defense All I care about is the win.
My favorite part was Fraser pointing out his bleeding eye and acting so nonchalant about it. Thanks Fraser, for getting us the power play, but could you please go to the bench and make sure you don't go blind? Lol.
to be fair, i fell into doubt until after the effects of Jeff Carter. And to be honest, rightfully so. I don't think the team would have made the playoffs without him. We're looking good, but I think we have way more offense in the tank and I'm not sure what's holding it back. We really have to convert some of those shots because we can't always guarantee we're going to hold the Blues back to 1 goal.
Naw, Axl has been hanging around and commenting here and there, I think he was the guy that started that thread. Actually there are allot of people and here that lost hope. Some sooner than others.
I was at a turning point for about a week there but i've seen enough to know that things can change quickly.
But there are 2 or 3 guys that were here EVERY NIGHT when things were tough, criticizing not only the team but alot of us for believing. I'm just wondering why they aren't here sharing the good times. This whole thing can crash pretty quickly but why not enjoy the ride with the rest of us?
Nice Penner post-game quote, props to him for including the fans:
Quote:
"We don't mind being underdogs, we know what we have in this room and you've probably heard it a lot but it's what we believe in here as a team and an organzation that matters, and our fans. You know when people want to say that we don't stand a chance, that's up to them, that's their right, but we know what we believe in here."
Sounds like "us against the world" is alive and well in the LA Kings locker room.
Thats a lose-lose situation... Clifford or even Westie then you roll guys like Clune or even DD44.
I completely disagree. Kreider has looked pretty damn good. Schwartz looked pretty damn good earlier as well, so did Stone. Raw rookies can be effective, they bring a unique passion and energy.
If King is suspended I go to Loktionov first, even on the LW with Stoll-Lewis. I would also rank Cliche, Vey, Toffoli ahead of Westgarth or Clune, of course for those 3 I would move Richardson with Stoll-Lewis and toss one of those 3 with Fraser-Nolan. Clune and Westgarth are useless, beyond useless at the NHL level, especially in playoffs. (This is assuming Clifford, Gagne, Parse are still hurt)

Really great seeing Penner looking like he was in Edmonton . And I am now on Kings bandwagon would love to see ya get a cup
One Blues fan commented that Penner always plays great games agains the Blues. I'm not sure of the history with Penner in Edmonton against the Blues but if Penner is a Blue's Killer, this would be awesome.
I was for getting rid of him at the deadline but he's been impressing me in the playoffs....

The people that matter, the Kings' players started doing this quite a while ago.

Yup....
I was against the whole Terry Murray system until we started winning.
Then when DS came in and people were worried about the system I said well if we win I don't give a **** what system they play. I never had any worries about DS because I knew it was a win win situation for the Kings. Either we win or we loose and DS and DL are gone.
