Our Playoff Warriors : Add Colin Fraser to that list
And now adding to that list, Colin Fraser!
At first glance, one would assume that similar blood trails would be the sign of a new member to our Playoff Warriors Club, but let me assure, it is more than just that.
Considered a complete bust at first even in a cast, Colin Fraser has really anchored our 4th this season. Wether it was Nolan, Richards, Clifford, or even Penner playing on that bottom feeder line, he has been tenacious to say the least.
I said we should resign him a few months ago in a thread and nearly everyone and their Mom said hellz no and that we could get someone else to fill that 4C. I didn't agree with you then and I'm not agreeing with you now.
After the series, Vancouver fans sited our 4th line as one of the X factors to taking the series.
These are the kinds of warriors that will help lead this team to the cup.
I've been pleased with him since the first 5 games he played for us. He is a solid fourth line verteran presence and adds a lot to that line and the depth of our team. I think we should re-sign him. Solid veteran presence, good teammate, works through injury, has tenacity along the boards, fight/spirit, and he has a Stanley Cup ring and still has some youth on his side. It sucks for our prospect depth, but he's been exactly what we needed in that spot. Could be a Kris Draper for us.

"It has not been a good day. I lost my glasses early this morning and I had to go buy a pair of 79 dollar reading glasses today. 79 bucks. You can literally get them at Costco, three-for-20." - Darryl Sutter's response to going up 2-0 in the series.
I was never against him either way, but was more of an observer. I like him enough to resign. He is one of the better producers we have had as far as an energy line goes....
Can't think of many fourth line centers making $1M. He's worth $750-800K, that's about it.
This. Maybe I'd even go as high as his current salary $875,000 I believe). Anything more, adios. I really like what he's brought this year and in the playoffs, but for the amount of minutes he plays and the point production he has, he is well enough paid.
Firstly, I like Colin Fraser and I think we should look to extend him. But I have to rant a bit, because people just wouldn't stop (even in this thread there are people mentioning it). I expect nothing more from a guy like Rich Hammond, because he just repeats things that other people say, like a parrot: "Kings rely on playoff-tested players". Why is Darryl Sutter mentioning his SC ring is also obvious, he plays mind games with his players all the time.
Stanley cup, playoff experience.
I will simply write the facts and nothing more. If people want to overlook it, fine.
Fact #1: Colin Fraser has less NHL Playoff games than even Anze Kopitar, who missed last playoffs entirely. No need to even mention the rest of our team.
Fact #2: Colin Fraser has, prior to this season, played exactly 48 minutes and 12 seconds in NHL playoffs. That's two Doughty's shifts. A bit more.

That's all.
Hey party pooper this this the 3rd round everybody loves everybody common sense is not needed until after the season. Right now Fraser is the best 4th line center in the history of the NHL
Remember when everyone was up in arms about this trade? Kinda funny to think about how things worked out 10 months later because DL is looking like a genius on this.
Fraser has earned his spot on this roster as far as I'm concerned and I couldn't be happier with him at the moment.

I think most people knew he was washed up and were happy to see him go. There were a few bitter fans in the fall as Mr. October put up over a point a game for the Oilers and people blamed the Kings system, forgetting he was also Mr. October for the Kings. Once Ryan went into his annual hibernation around the holidays everyone was more than happy to see Fraser playing a solid 4th line role.
And I wonder if DL's nose grows every time he tells the media he didn't want to make this trade. I realize you never want to throw anyone under the bus, and I would never expect DL to do such a thing, but my god if we win the Cup they might as well put Smyth's name on it.
Smyth's selfishness and greed enabled the Kings to add these pieces that have them in the Conf finals. It was as big as any signing or trade made by the team in the past few years, not because Colin Fraser is such a good player (though he has played his role perfectly) but it let us comfortably add Richards, sign DD and still have the space to try and sign B. Richards and later add Gagne and Carter.
Thanks Ryan, and enjoy playing for whatever team happens to throw the most $$ at you this summer, I personally hope it's the Ducks, although I would hate to see your children again subjected to those awful California schools.
