Basically it all boils down to one simple thing: We must win Game 2.

My cousin's son is name Mason...and I know a few others. It's one of those popular names now. Oh and Mason Raymond says hello..

Really feel like this will be a very tough series without a healthy Kovy. Have to find a way to get him healthy.
Tomorrow will start the 4th week. He was injured on April 3rd.

-I noticed poni had a particularly awful game the other night. I applaud pete’s desire to shake up the lines, but that one wasn’t working for me.

-I never expected the devils to get to the second round- so to me, this is all gravy. I never expected them to beat philly either..they are the superior team. just put up a fight and I’ll be happy. we can still win the series, and if so it’ll be bonerrific like its all terrific.
I'm not expecting anything this round so if we win, that's great. If we lose, well I'm might take a leave of absence for a couple of days until everyone calms down.

Marty had two assists in the Florida series from playing the puck. I have no problem with him continuing to do it, but he can't have any of those gaffes, because the Flyers will capitalise.

Marty playing the puck so much in the first period was one of the reasons the Devils dominated to start the game.

The gf is a 2nd grade teacher, and the last few years she's seen a ton of:

Isabel/Isabella
Grace
Taylor
Madison
Jackson
Tyler
Brayden/Jayden
Olivia
Sophia

The last 2 or 3 years. I hear the names of her students so much I can list them. lol. Seems everyone is naming their kids with wealthy-sounding names or something.

I'm pretty sure I know someone who has a kid with each one of those names.

I have names picked out if we ever have kids...it's not on that list.

Where does she happen to teach? I have a cousin in a right age bracket and potentially the right area to be one of her kids...

She's in a very small school district in Hunterdon County. It's so small that she typically gets all their siblings too since there's only a few teachers per grade level.

EDIT: And I forgot Aiden, Abby, and Liam (I hear those names a lot too!)

I can't believe people are blaming the delay of game penalty.

If you don't want a delay of game penalty, don't throw it out of play.

He has a condition called "Shootafobia", it's a mental condition that keeps a player from shooting a puck, it could take a few years of psychotherapy to correct unfortunately.

Can't blame the refs for calling this one or the dumb ones from Salvador, and Sykora.

I can't say I blame Zidlicky for throwing it over the glass. Being that this team can't clear worth a crap.

We didn't notice this a lot during the Florida series except when they were on the PP. It's been a huge problem for the Devils this season. Getting forechecked, and pinned into their own zone, and not being able to clear. That's how the OT winner by Briere happened. At least one or two goals a night against us happened because of that.

When you look at a lot of our games where we only gave up one goal this season I think 90 percent of them came because we got pinned, and couldn't clear.

I don't think anyone is blaming it more than we are saying it's ****ing stupid.

it is stupid, and it's our veterans making the same stupid mistakes at bad times in the game.
How many times are we gonna hear "we have to play smarter and stay out of the box" before every pre game show.

The Devils played a very good game yesterday. The Marty giveaway, and Kovy's assist on the Briere breakaway that opened up the scoring didn't help.

Had we lost this game the same way in OT, but not cause of the mistakes it would have been a damn good loss. One of the best of the year. I still don't know if the Devils would have pushed to tie it had Sykora not come out of the box with that chance though.

A lot of people are saying Marty gave up the worst goal yesterday, but overall played better than Bryz. That 2nd goal wasn't that bad. The fact he gave it away was worse than giving up the goal though he should get up for those.

I understand Kovy is everyone's favorite punching bag, and he should have hit the net. But, why is Harrold getting excused for his bad pinch? Because it's Peter Harrold? Still doesn't excuse the fact he was practically blanketing Kovy in the exact same spot.

Either way, what can you do.

This is what scares me the most. I thought the Devils played a very good game. I thought Marty was pretty good. I thought the Flyers played a very mediocre game, didn't show up until the second period, and Bryz was not good. Yet the Flyers still won.

so marty has a few assists. ok. im talking about when he needs to clear the zone with pressure on. when nobody is in the zone, yea hes got a great outlet pass. but in the zone, hilarity ensues.

Well then he needs to be smarter about doing it, not stop doing it.
