This is what I'm wondering. I took it to mean that at least he doesn't have a concussion. Hopefully he can return for game 3.

We've won games without top players before. We've been without Steen and McDonald at the same time, etc. Pietrangelo is our best but we've overcome this before. Cole is a solid skater and physical player so I think he can do an OK job. He's not Petro but we have a lot of other talent on this roster. The team SHOULD be hungry, mad, and energized. We need to win this game and I think they'll come out on fire. Let's go boys! Even this up. The best revenge is walking away with a 'W'.

This is what I speculate happened. With a concussion there are periods of misery and periods of relative clarity. It's the playoffs, and Pietrangelo is ultra competitive. He wants to play if he possibly can. So he's resting Sunday and on Monday morning tries to skate to see if he'll have symptoms following his blood pressure being raised during a practice. That's why they had to check with him in the afternoon. He goes home to rest, have a pregame nap, see how his head feels after that, that's when Hitchcock and Armstrong were going to meet with him. Armstrong's not going to meet with him on some other medical injury, it's a discussion about the risk they want to take with concussion symptoms. And he doesn't feel ready. Which means he'll be day to day ongoingly, but I don't expect to see him the rest of the season, which I think will be pretty short.

Agreed P9...Steen was day to day for a long time as well before they finally admitted he just wasn't ready.

I thought there are protocols to follow when dealing with a possible concussion ? Practicing doesn't seem to follow the protocol set by the league.

Alright Cole, it's your time to prove you deserve to be here next year. This is an opportunity for you.

He may have passed his baseline test, but he may still get symptoms under a heavy work load.

Shattenkirk and Jackman both failed miserably on that play. This is a great start. I miss Petro

They forgot how to play at the end of the second period in the last game. We were hoping they'd relearn before tonight.

Jesus christ. When was the last time we got a scoring chance on an odd-man break?

And that was exactly what I was scared of. That goal was completely and totally on Oshie. Lost a puck battle and then totally forgot about covering the front of the net.

What the hell? Do they not want to play anymore, they'd rather go golf I guess? Way to just **** the bed guys! Why should I waste my time on this game if they don't even take it seriously.

Shattenkirk played that poorly. But Oshie completely blew his assignment. You can't overskate the puck in front of your net. Ever.

Early game has been very bad, we need to get some momentum. Defense play needs to much better, our backside pressure has been very bad so far this series

Every time 5 and 22 are on the ice it's a brilliant scoring chance for LA.

Hey look, Backes actually finished a check.

You're a horrible fighter Crombeen.
