Im a big Ovechkin fan but I would never do this from the Leafs point of view. Maybe if Ovechkin can prove that he can play the way he used to.

I suggest you try these Trade Proposals on NHL 12 Be a GM Mode. They might get accepted there. A bunch of quantity for great quality though doesn't usually work like that in real life though.

Funny enough in a salary cap world, I think Toronto should say no, hear me out.

Ovechkin is very clearly the best player in the deal, and despite what any Toronto fan says, Kessel doesn't compare.

That said what combination do you think wins more games?

Ovi at $9.5M
Kessel at $5.5M + 5th Pick (Galyenchuk?) $1.775?

In a couple years time with a bump on Kessels salary they will be making combined roughly what Ovie is making, but producing more combined than he is...

In a non-cap world he is the better option for sure though.
