Start strong, stay strong, finish strong. We can't allow our game to sag against the Flyers, they can and will take advantage.

fml..didnt do it game 1…lets try it for game 2

I have misspoken. the devils were mislead. while everybody focused on striking the vulcanized rubber in such a way that it eluded the goaltender, the most important part of a hockey game was missed: the skating.

in order to succeed, we must begin with the basics. putting on skates. for if the player’s skates are not fastened appropriately- how can they skate? over, under, in and out, that’s what skate tying is all about. once our skates have been donned thusly, we can focus on skating in the direction of the puck.

oh, how many players have tried to take a stride with their left and right skates at the same time, only to fall to the ice in shame and discomfort. they must remember the old don cherry nursery rhyme: if you want to move real fast, left right left and just have a blast!

once they have skated in the direction of the puck, THEN it is time to take possession and begin striking. STRIKE the puck! using their birched sticks! only by doing this more than those who fly can we ride our bus home as victors. and to the victors go the spoils- which sounds bad but is actually quite good.

let us go, devils. let us tie our skates. let us move our legs. let us acquire goalscores.

edit: RG, 'connnected' is the ****!!! yeahhh

And always remember to take your skate guards off. That can get embarrassing if you don't.

I somehow picture Clarkson constantly falling victim to this in youth hockey.

I somehow envision the whole team put scotch tape on Clarkie's skate blades and no one has told him.

Somebody please make up a drinking game for everytime one of the announcers kisses the flyers backside. Almost made game 1 unwatchable. Very confused by how such a typical dirty team with a nasty (many, not all) fan base can so obviously be rooted for by announcers. How about lets show support all over the ice like we did in game 1.

You don't have to picture it - just open your eyes and you'll see it live. Speaking of which - how many goals does Clarkie have in the playoffs now? Where's that 30 goal scorer from the regular season?

And here's the crazy thing.

The Flyers really aren't THAT great.

They're a solid team to be sure, but I believe the media has jumped the shark on this team, perhaps like with none other I've ever seen.

Very solid offensive depth among the best in the NHL, but with a slightly below-average defense, and a goaltender that isnt going to scare anyone.

the only thing i'm worried about is Kovy. They played him way too long and it may be too late to recover. I really got pissed when Lou totally brushed it aside "he'll be fine". I would atleast acknowledge the guy is battling something. Is this was a coaching error or is Lou dipping his hand in the matter? This is tearing me up inside i hope by some wacky chance this is not as bad as it appears and he can recover through the series. I would play him on the third line as a setup guy, decreasing his minutes if thats what we're gonna do and give Henrique the reigns.

I'm not even nervous for this game...it is what it is at this point. If we get out of this round, great. If not, I'm not gonna be upset.

I just remembered Briere's contract and it made me annoyed:

10, 8, 8, 7, 7, 7, 3, 2

Somehow THAT isnt designed to make a mockery of the NHL salary cap.

He turned playmaker.

I am, because I think the Flyers are very beatable. Just keep this series close for a while and I think they're high-risk to fold like a cheap tent.

But if they get out to a huge lead like they did against Pittsburgh, it's over. I just want the Devils to be a stalking horse this series. 1-1, down 2-1, 2-2 etc... I'm fine with that.

I don’t necessarily think doc is bad luck…but I wish he wasn’t calling the games. I actually get it now, what other fans have said..hes kind of annoying. hes a great guy and I love him, but listening to his ‘HIT THE POST WITH THE SHOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT’ and all that screaming nonsense…I think im a little turned off.

still better than steve, but..

Best way I've ever spent work. I've had downloaded games off iTunes and am listening to them as if they were the radio. Listening to the 95 Cup winning game right now, great stuff.
