LA Kings - Edmonton (WE TRADING AGAIN!)

Los Angeles Kings receive
C Sam Gagner

Edmonton Oilers receive
G Jonathan Bernier

Why the Kings do this:
Kings don't need Bernier because they got an elite goalie in Quick and they need offense and they'll get that with Gagner

Why the Oilers do this:
In my other proposal, Oilers traded away Dunyk. So the Oilers replace em with imo a better goalie in Bernier. Now Oilers hopefully have that legit goalie. Oilers don't need Gagner since they acquired Ryan Johansen in my other proposal

You should have posted this on same thread.

and personally I think what Colorado offered for Bernier is much better than this, so Edmonton will have to add.

Not sure how high Kings fans are on Gagner though.

also do you think the Kings lose Stoll? or who will be added at center if Stoll leaves? Kings have some good prospects but Gagner is still filled with potential.

Center is LA's deepest position. I don't think they care about Gagner.

I think L.A. have Kopitar, Richards and Carter as natural centres. Personally, I think it's L.A.'s deepest strength. I don't think that Edmonton really has anyone that the Kings would want that the Oilers would be willing to give up.

I think Bernier will be one of the premier goalies of the league in a few years time, so I think the Kings would be asking quite a bit more than Gagner.

Bernier is also worth more than Gagner, yeah he is a backup goalie but look at who he has to backup, Bernier is capable of being a starting goalie on many teams.

Actually it's more like we have as centers:
Kopitar, Carter, Richards...
Stoll, Richardson, Loktionov...
Lewis, Fraser, Nolan...

Shoot it's easier to just say who we have on wing!
Brown, Williams, Penner, King...that's about it. Gagne when he comes back and Clifford too.

I don't think we have any centers on defense or in goal...yet.

I think you guys should draft Yakupov then decide whether to trade him or Hall to maybe Vancouver and get Schneider. Then you guys keep the Omarks and MPS's on your team to fill out the other lines.

They already have Loktionov if they want to replace Stoll -- Gagner doesn't fit in.

And Bernier, if he is traded -- though they have no pressing need to -- should go to the Eastern conference.

Uh.. What did Colorado offer for Bernier? We have Varlamov..

If that comment was not a mistake then which ever Colorado fan made an offer for Bernier is a retard.

I don't see what Bernier has done to make him so much more appealing than Dubnyk. I don't do this.

Oilers need to add. A Gagner does not get you a Bernier.

The value is so far from legitimate it couldn't even by my child.

That 8 point game has done wonders for the fantasy world of Oilers fans...LA could get much more for Bernier than Gagner.

I take this, run, and laugh until I'm out of breath as an Oilers fan.

I am not sure what Kings fans are expecting in terms of a return on Bernier, but their expectations may not be realistic. The Varlamov trade may be a comparable, although Varlamov was a more proven commodity at the time of his trade and at a similar age. Colorado was also very aggressive and I am not sure other GMs would have the same cajones to pull a similar deal form Bernier. In any event, the return would be picks and/or prospects and not proven NHL talent.

As many have pointed out there is not need for LA to get a Centre. So this trade will not work.
How about Teemu Hartikainen and a 2nd for bernier and a 4th?
