Here are some Reviews:

It's a good phone but if you can go with the Torch 9810 or Bold 9900/9930 instead.

Rogers has the Torch 9810 for 1 Cent on a 3 Year Contract:

To be honest if you can wait until early new year I would. I went out and bought a used Torch 8100 without a contract etc in anticipation of the BB10s release. With word that CEO Heins is walking around using a BB10 device and that beta versions will be sent to carriers very shortly, I can only hope things are on track for a very early 2013 release.

Agreed. If you can wait the first 2 BlackBerry 10 Phones are supposed to be out in January.

The current BlackBerry 7 Phones won't even be in the same ball park.

I'm using a BlackBerry 6 Phone now & I'll be upgrading to the BlackBerry 10 Phone that has a Physical Keyboard.

I'm waiting to see what the bb10 phones look like too. I have a curve and I don't recommend it.

I want a physical keyboard too, but it will depend on how long it takes for that version to come out.

RIM's CEO has said that it will be out a few weeks after the All Touchscreen BlackBerry 10 Phone. Both Phones are expected in January 2013.

If you have to get a BlackBerry now the 2 best current BlackBerry's are the Bold 9900 and the Torch 9810.

I don't think you're going to find a better deal on the 9810 than the 1 Cent deal that Rogers is currently offering.

As to Virgin Mobile their network isn't as good as Rogers.

If you can your best bet is probably to buy a used phone (check www.kijiji.ca www.craigslist.ca www.ebay.ca) and then get a new BlackBerry 10 Phone in January.

Considering the progress made, Jan 2013 isn't a stretch. They are going to demo the hardware to carriers this month or next month. That's a full 3 months before the end of 2012.

Yes. The RIM CEO is already using a BlackBerry 10 Phone and they have demoed the Beta Verions (Not the Alpha Dev) to US Carriers.

The first BlackBerry 10 Phone (the All Touchscreen Model) is expected in January 2013 with the second BlackBerry 10 Phone (the Physical Keyboard Model) following 2 or 3 weeks later.

RIM has shown BlackBerry 10 to the Candian Carriers too

http://www.techvibes.com/blog/canadi...ays-2012-08-27

http://www.tech.sc/carriers-thrilled...-rim-official/

From the second Link:

"The rumor mill says that the next-gen RIM smartphones will be underpinned by quad-core Snapdragon S4 chipsets and that will feature HD displays, LTE support, and, of course, the new BlackBerry 10 OS."

EDIT: More on the Snapdragon S4 Chipset:

Nice to read, one can only hope it turns out to be a device that gains back some market share for them. I am patiently waiting and hoping my patience will be rewarded.

It's not a great photo and it's really a minor thing, but I find those icons to be ugly. RIM doesn't want to risk squares with rounded corners?

BlackBerry 10 to launch with most apps of any first generation smartphone OS

RIM: BlackBerry 10 to have biggest app-etite at launch

BlackBerry's developers want BlackBerry 10 OS to surpass the number of apps launched on any first-generation smartphone OS:

"BlackBerry-maker wants you to know that it's committed to a thriving app market at launch.

In fact, Alec Saunders, RIM's vice president of developer relations and ecosystem development, told CNET that RIM intends to launch its OS with more apps than any other first-generation operating system."
