Big props to Trotz and the Preds organization for sticking by their guns. Selfish behavior like this deserves punishment, especially in the playoffs. It takes a lot of courage to bench two of your better offensive threats in the playoffs down 0-2.
Honestly I don't think we have anything to lose being down two games to none.. Let the young kids who practice hard and don't get hammered the day before a playoff game play.. After all these are the players that were on our team the whole year and did lots of the work for us
It makes me wonder if Radulov/A.Kostitsyn were roommates on the Phoenix trip? I'm trying to figure out why Sergei or others didn't join them...
I have no doubt this will motivate the team to come out strong on Wednesday, but what will Trotz do for Game 4 after we beat Phoenix 9 to 1 in Game 3? Do they remain scratched for this series or do they return?
I saw a priceless quote on another board:
=================================
"Trotz told the players to take more 'shots', but he meant on the ice (and not at a bar)."
are these players known to act like this or is this behaviour out of character?
AK and his brother are known for this [golf'ed edited] so this is not surprising at all just one more reason HABS fans are happy to not have him or his brother in Montreal anymore too many team distractions.
Canadiens general manager Bob Gainey said yesterday he is "very concerned" about a report that brothers Andrei and Sergei Kostitsyn and defenceman Roman Hamrlik have social ties with Pasquale Mangiola, who was arrested on Feb. 12 on drug trafficking charges
That better.

Finally...the Kostitsyns' #1 hater stopping by for a cold one
In all seriousness, I'm a Sens fan on the Preds bandwagon now and I'm glad to see this kind of player responsibility in the organization. If you don't like the rules, don't join the team. That simple. Good on the Preds.
When you are yelling things like "Who wants to ride former KHL MVP Alexander Radulov's playoff beard" people tend to take note.
He probably carries all of his awards around to show off to everyone or something.

Now call me an eternal optimist but this actually excites me. We get some hungry players in the line up and hopefully can get back to "Predator" hockey. This will go one of two ways. Either the Preds will sulk and go out with a whimper or they will band together and make this a turning point.
This. I'm excited about seeing Smith, Wilson, Toots or Hali in there. Especially one of Smith or Wilson on one of the top 2 lines.
With guys back in the lineup that have been committed to the team all year, maybe we'll finally get back to playing Predators hockey.

Radulov and Kostitsyn spotted in bar in Scottsdale past midnight Sat., before 5 pm Game 2 loss. Team was staying in Glendale, 45 mins away.
