Didn't realize Filppula was playing as well. Good feed by him to Mikko.

Oh man, did anyone see Burrows' injury?

That looked like a possible concussion to me.

I personally would care a lot less for this particular tourney, if Granlund and Koivu weren't playing.

I'm not sure whether to laugh or be sad.

Seriously, why would you laugh at a big injury?

C'mon man.

It just ticks me off that Mikko's been a spectator so much the last couple seasons and Granlund chose not to come over, but damned if they can't give it their all for a meaningless international tourney.

I would find it ironic if Burrows got a head injury, considering the amount of whiplash he gives himself on a nightly basis.

Granlund and Koivu really seem to have some chemistry. Twice between shifts they've made something happen in seconds. I hope J. Jalonen dares to put them on the same line, at least on the PP. Breaking the magical PIG line doesn't seem too feasible for him.

i wouldn't cheer if he got a concussion but i wouldn't feel bad, either. seriously, just like i wouldn't feel bad if that Marine who filmed himself throwing a puppy off a cliff in Iraq got hit by a sniper. he's not a sympathetic character.

I always feel like these games should be better.

Players always screw up 2 on 1's, and fan on simple shots.

That is rather annoying, but I can't fault Granlund that much. I mean if he feels he needs to finish up whatever he needs to do in Finland, that's fine. I get your point about Mikko though.

Granlund has looked good today from the little bit I saw him, I absolutely can't wait to see him here next year.

I'm so jealous my friend is in Finland till May 21st.

You know what he's doing? Being a mascot at the tournament.

World Championships hosted in your home country?

I'm going to say "meaningless international tourney" is about the last phrase they'd apply to that. It might be meaningless to you, but it's about as far from that as possible for them.

It's quite funny. Wasn't long time ago when many fans here thought NHLers were greedy unpatriotic jerks if they refused to play in the WC after an NHL season.

And some of you guys may see them as lazy betraitors if they play.

In the end there aren't so many games compared to playoffs. And all Finnish NHLers think their team first for sure. If there's no playoffs they may consider WC.

You may hurt yourself in the pre-season scrimmage or with a snow blower. Life is full of risks.

All will be forgiven if Granlund comes over and Koivu returns to form now that he's gotten a buddy. But man I just can't get myself worked up over them playing against other guys who missed the playoffs.

Granlund will most likely sign in May but I wouldn't assume that to happen right after the tournament.

Glad to see Finland and USA could handle Belarus and France.

Clearly, Team Belarus miss the Kostitsyn brothers.

If I were coach Jalonen, I'd try lines:

Filppula - Koivu - Granlund
Jokinen - Immonen - Kiiskinen

Pesonen out, please. Only I'm not Jalonen and Kiiskinen isn't eligible yet.

I'd roll with:

Pyörälä - Koivu - Granlund
Filppula - Immonen - Jokinen

I don't want to break up the Komarov - Kapanen - Joensuu line, it was awesome. I told my friend to watch Jesse Joensuu closely, and he sure was good.

Also, I don't think signing Niskala would be a bad thing, looking at Wild's D. Just sayin'.

That BLR goalie was standing on his head. That game could've easily been 4-0 or 5-0 had it not been for him.

Both Larsson and Brodin are now registered to the swedish team due to injuries.
