Looks like clubs start to take the draft more seriously. Interesting, what are they planning to do with this pick? Chaika was poor this season that means that there's no one particularly worth keeping, so they could be after some other clubs player.

From the first day I didn't really understand why KHL has draft, when almost all teams has their junior programs

Because not every Russian hockey club (with junior pyramid) is in the KHL. KHL draft basically is for spreading out the leftovers, sometimes there's nothing valuable out there, but sometimes it's Slepyshev (Penza) or Bukarts (Stupino).

Not so, Vorobiev was technically SKA's property, they took him from Torpedo last year, and traded Petrov (while it was just a loan). Since he's under contract - SKA can't just take him back without breaking the rules; therefore, the farce with a draft pick

Spartak gets Bushuev and Shefer.

Also will reportedly sign a deal with defender Kirill Gavrilychev.

Just wondering... Traktor is rich club and Ryazantsev was a big part of their offense, so why do they not re-sign him?

Everyone is almost sure that he has an NHL out clause.

I wrote it earlier I am repeating it again. NHL out clause does not exist in KHL contracts. There can be only gentlemen agreement among club and player, which is not binding.. people should learn KHL rules!

Doesn't matter. If it can be done, then there's no difference whether it's written or not. Anyway you can work such clause in the deal in million different ways without calling it what it is.

It's not a bad thing, is it? At least from an organizational point of view, being likened to a German should be a compliment (I'm not so sure about the English, though)...

And, since KHL starts to publish the contract durations on their website (even if not yet on the english version), I think that these contracts must have credibility, otherwise why publish them at all?

because Ryazantsev is weak defensively, and that's what matters if u wanna win and not set hardest shot records.

He finished regular season a +25 and in the playoffs still earned +3. I wouldn't call him weak defensively...

Remember, Traktor is going to pay Kuznetsov more, plus I imagine they sign Dadonov and some others.

Severstal lost Chudinov and Shefer, so they probably made Ryazantsev an offer Traktor just wasn't willing to outbid.

so based on Tretyak's interview, foreign goalies are no longer counted towards the 5 foreign players limit, but Russian goalies MUST play a certain % of games?
