All 2012-2013 Post-Apocalyptic Theme Discussion Here
Now that we have an awesome coach, a franchise saving draft pick, have killed off our former hero (R.N.), formed a "we suck fire them all" Mr Microphone Protest Club, and have exhausted all original and insightful things to say in every other frickin thread about why we suck, ---all eyes turn to the coming season and the most important question we have left to discuss: a fan theme for the coming year.
Previous themes have utterly failed, in part, because they were too serious, and because we got started too late, and we let Viqsi and Plong decide. Well, no more of that crap.
For Your Consideration....
Jf's CBJ Post-Apocalyptic Themes for Our 2012-2013 Cup Run
(choose one, but not two, or make up your own)
Death Race 2012-2013
The Howson Games
Soyling Blue
pResident Evil
Judge Howson
22 Monkeys
Nasher's Run
(Adding from my other posts: )
Demolition Man, the Scott Howson Story
TerminateHim Salvation
Idiocracy
And the DSL recommended theme: Beyond Blunderdome. (though I suspect he just wants to see Jackets in leather avatars)
I was going to post this as a poll, but for some reason "OTHER" always wins my polls, so why bother.
(And to those of you who think it's too early, show me the stats or shut up).
We'll have a rebound year just good enough for Howson and Priest to keep their jobs, while at the same time our record will keep us from drafting a franchise player in 2013 that might turn the franchise around. Meanwhile the L.A. Kings and Philadelphia Flyers meet in the cup finals as we watch more and more former jackets find success. And finally to add insult to injury the return for Nash will be nowhere near as great as anyone expected, becoming one of the most lopsided trades in nhl history.
Not sure if just really jaded, realistic, or wanted to put out the worst case scenario for us. Oh well.

Is this an avatar themed discussion? If so, based on comments so far, why not have everyone have their own 'movie title play on words' avatar?
This is a BS, just-for-giggles, kill-time-in-the-offseason (for us anyway)-because-we've-been-hashing-and-rehashing-the-same-old-crap-since-December thread. Treat it as such and your enjoyment level will increase two levels. (And continue to treat it as such even after J-Fan contends it's totally serious. He is only joking.)
I would just like to point out this is my second post in this thread and I have not yet posted an only-somewhat-related YT clip.
Not really; it's the name of a Simpsons episode (season 11, I believe). It involves Homer criticizing Mel Gibson's remake of "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington", and being tapped for a rewrite. It also involves a shifty-eyed dog at the end.
This also applies to "The Blunder Years" (season 13).
In responding to JF's little comment on the Carry The Avatar series, I would like to facetiously announce my support for each and every one of these themes (and the "post-apocalyptic" concept in general) and suggest that they be developed right away, so that the inevitable good luck of my support can go to work immediately.
(Because, unlike in live chat, I can't just reply with "**** you too, dear." )

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
You are not alone. We are a small (very small) percentage but we are not yet "Last Man Standing"
WE....ARE.....LEGION!!!!!!!
.....of four!
Actually, yours is a better idea. "You Are Not Alone" was a song by Michael Jackson, and who looks more like a post-apocalyptic mutant than a post-1994 Michael Jackson?
Previous themes have utterly failed... we let Viqsi and Plong decide... no more of that crap.
I'm just going to assume that you mean a sarcasm smiley somewhere around here. Because yours is kind of a tongue-in-cheek post, right? I absolutely get the bitterness. But I know you wouldn't be blaming Viqsi or I for avatar/theming mishaps. I'm actually quite proud of the work I've done on avatars, I think they look great. Not to mention all the hours spent doing it for free. So I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, Jf
