None that I am aware of but Olden could be a huge pick up for a team that has a spot for him. He could easily get 50 points and maybe more. He had 34 with Erie last year in his first season playing North American hockey. Also was a 3rd round NHL pick.

Connor McDavid that's all I have to say, this kid was simply phenomenal. Honestly I was trying to gauge where he would score for points but after tonight really anything is possible, he is just too good.

I agree with you here. I know he didn't record any points tonight but he could have easily had three. The second Erie goal he made a great play to keep the puck in the zone which lead to goal. I felt he was a threat every time he was on the ice, he looked to me to be the best player tonight on either team. He went up against dougie Hamilton who is NHL ready right now and still looked that good.

Yeah he was excellent tonight, sometimes he will have to keep it simple, he got stopped along the boards a couple times going up against Hamilton and Graham but he will learn. He got absolutely rocked his first shift by Dougie.

Ya at times he seemed to hang onto the puck just a tad to long, and I would expect him to have trouble with Dougie considering he is 6'5 205 and probably the best d-man in the OHL this year. Give McDavid a few games to adjust and he will be putting up some impressive numbers.

On that ice surface? The size of Hamilton, it makes it almost easy for him. Seriously, when is Niagara going to build an arena not for novice players.

But anyway, I liked Mcdavid's reaction to playing against Hamilton. "First hit was a fluke, by the 3rd one, I'm thinking Holy Crap, 60 minutes against this guy."

He's going to be good folks.

I had a bet he'd score in his first OHL game, 2nd shift... I lost, but I'm going all in, double or nothing he makes up for it against a tough team in London. If he doesn't get at least a goal + a helper... I'm out some coin.

speed

I was at the game last night and I was impressed with his speed with the puck. The one end to end rush was beautiful to watch. He definitely is a special player with a great future. Great to watch!!!

There were at least 6 NHL scouts at the game last night and on several occasions were left shaking there head with amazement. They couldnt believe he was 15 and were amazed with his game and his future.

7-2 Knights after the second . I thought the woes of last season were over this season but based on the first five periods of the season it does not seem to be any different. I guess the only positive out of this game is McDavid got his first goal and assist.

D-man Kris Grant who never reported to camp this year and was awaiting a trade cleared waivers today and has been released.

After two periods of play Erie leads the Petes 4-0. Harper with two goals and McDavid with two assists, story of the game has been Oscar Dansk thus far, he has played great through two.

Erie gets their first win tonight but I think they owe this one to dansk. He stood on his head stopping 47 of 48. Glad to see him get the win but Erie is going to have to be more disciplined in the future, giving the Pete's nine power plays is a bit much

Another 2 points for the kid... once we hit the 20 game mark and he figures it all out...he'll start racking up the points (goals) like it's nobody's business... I revert to my prediction from the start of training camp...100 pt season is well within a reasonable expectation for the talent this guy possesses.

70-80 is very realistic (20g,60A), 100 is possible. The only question to me with 100 points now is his shot velocity. His shot velocity is his only weakness, if u can even call it that. His playmaking genius is very hard to put a limit on. As ive said a few times before, he will have games where he has 4 assists, sooner rather than later.

Oscar Dansk looked unreal yesterday.

I don't think he'll be scoring any one timers from the off-wing on the pp ala Stamkos...at least not for another year or so...So, that's an aspect of his game he'll continue to improve... all this kid needs is time to adjust...my prediction is by game 20...he'll maintain a ppg pace for the 1st 1/4 of the season....and then explode...This kid is not just a year ahead on the developmental curve, he's 15 going on 18.

Sad to see Spencer go was one of my favorites both on and off the ice. Real character kid. Erie just added an underated offensive weapon to their backend. The kid can fly

What a great game for the Otters, A little shaky at times but overall they all played well as a team tonight. Dansk played great stopping 34 of 35 and McDavid had two goals.
I thought Abraham played well for only being with the team for one day and I also was impressed with Jake Evans. He seemed to be a different player than last year and much more physical. Great overall effort and lets hope it carries over tomorrow against London.

Was at the game tonight... McDavid...WOW! Abraham is really poise with the puck and made some real good decisions with the puck. He's very smart and provides a much needed puck moving aspect to Ernie's backend. Will be just like Derek Holden.

Good game tonight by Erie, they held their own against London and to put it lightly did not get to many calls there way in this one.
