Since I haven't seen either team play, I am not voting. Good luck to both teams!

I can't believe that only 2 games out of 7 are scheduled for the weekends.

They couldn't do Friday/Sunday with a Wednesday/Friday/Saturday schedule?

There is quite a distance between the 2 cities so they probably wanted 2 travel days between each city.

Looks like Norfolk was good to go for the 17th and 19th so that's when the series is starting. However, Hedley is playing Mile One on the 24th and 25th (both sold out as well), which means the stage, sound and lights all need to be set up, so there goes Wednesday. That is why games are set for Mon/Tue and then none until Saturday. Two days travel back to Norfolk and good to go again on Tuesday.

I'd like to vote, however the poll states I'm unable too. I'll just put my prediction here.

I say Norfolk takes the series in 6 games. I try to be realistic with my predictions and not a homer.

Game 1: Norfolk 4 IceCaps 2
Game 2: IceCaps 3 Norfolk 2

Game 3 Norfolk 4 IceCaps 2
Game 4. IceCaps 4 Norfolk 2
Game 5 Norfolk 5 IceCaps 1

Game 6 Norfolk 3 IceCaps 1.

No team makes it to the Conference final without being good. Will be a tough series, guessing it will take OT to decide the winner in a couple of the games.

Going with the Admirals in 6, they just keep finding ways to get it done.

I have two reasons for wanting the Admirals to win, and they're both friends of mine who are long-time fans.

Every other factor makes me root for St. John's.

Ice Caps in 6.

The tale of the tape with these two teams:

St. Johns: Has won (2) games by outscoring their oponents by 2 or more, and has scored 4+ twice (11 games)
Norfolk: Has won all but (1) game when scoring 3 or more, and scored 4+ 5 times(10 games)

This is going to be a good series. Stats show St John's has to keep Norfolk under 3 goals a game, while Norfolk has to get that tough 3rd goal in order to control the series. These two teams didn't finish 1-2 in the East by being bad.

As an Ads' fan, if Conacher/Johnson get moving this series, I honestly don't think St. John's has enough to stop them, especially with both Norfolk netminders playing solid hockey.

Ads in 6...I'd say 5 but I wanna see the series end in Norfolk.

Not a problem, it's what I do!

Anyway, I want to say IceCaps in 6 but I'm thinking Admirals in 7. These are the top 2 teams in the east and it is going to be an awesome series, both have definitely earned their birth in the EC final. Hats off to WB-Scranton as well, game 7 decided by a goal and a 2-OT thriller to get there. That's why I love hockey.

The IceCaps have arguably the deepest Defence core in the league, I believe the IceCaps certainly have the skill set to shut down Norfolk, however I do believe the admirals will take the series due to the fact that St. John's top point producers haven't been producing. If the top line can start producing then I believe the IceCaps will prevail.

Norfolks top point producers haven't been producing either

Top 3 regular season scorers for Norfolk:
Conacher - 80 points in 75 games 1.07PPG
Smith - 69 points in 64 games 1.08PPG
Johnson - 68 points in 75 games 0.91PPG

Their scores in the postseason:
Conacher - 6 points in 10 games 0.6PPG
Smith - 9 points in 10 games 0.9PPG
Johnson - 4 points in 6 games 0.67PPG

All of them scoring significantly lower than in the regular season, hence Norfolks lower GF/G of 3.1 from 3.59 in the regular season. St. Johns scoring has dropped by less, GF/G of 2.82 from 3.16 in the regular season.

I'm obviously cheering for the IceCaps but the head says the Admirals take it.

Although, I was cheering for the Kings, but had Vancouver going to the finals (against Pittsburgh no less), so what do I know?

It's going to be a pretty good series, but I honestly think the IceCaps take it in 7 games.

I knew this matchup would come eventually. During the season I rooted for the IceCaps quite a bit, but knowing how well Norfolk have played throughout the season (including a few impressive comeback wins) they may just "deserve" the series (and the cup) just a little bit more. Still haven't quite resolved who to support in this series, so... for now, I will just say this: may the best team win =)

Well, barring any miracles, the Ads will be going up 1-0 in the series. Didnt expect the difference to be so big in game 1, but Im sure IceCaps will adjust for game 2. Norfolk looking like that winning streak team from regular season tonight though...

Machacek back for game 2?

Absolutly solid game by Norfolk. St Johns didn't play bad, but they were just flat out beat on every chance.

I hope Trotter is okay, that was a nasty collision head first with the boards. Gudas almost took a solid lick there himself, but dropped his shoulder at the last second and went shoulder first.

I understand. Supporting Jaroslav Janus and Richard Panik.
I'm a realist though.
My heart says St. John's in 6. My gut says Norfolk in 6.
Gonna be a tight series. Game 1 wasn't an indication of how it's going to go, the Caps will come out firing tonight and I think it's coming back to the island tied at 1 game each.

Big game for the IceCaps. Festerling is back, but no Machacek yet.

Scoreless through one period, shots even at 7 each.

Hopefully the IceCaps can take this one and make a good series out of it. Obviously if they go down 3-0 it's next to impossible to come back.

Very physical game, close in shots too, though Norfolk had one breakaway chance. Third period should provide some fireworks...
