Who knows.. Maybe without that controversy, the series would be over by now? The Preds needed a spark and the controversy rallied the players together and they managed to win a game.

I think this serie is all about the goalies. So far, Smith>Rinne.

Also, its not like the Preds is not playing well tonight, they outshot and outchance Phoenix by a good margin but they just can't get the puck pass Smith.

Usually, when you only let 12 shots against after 2 periods, with Rinne in net, you should be in good position to win the game.

I wonder how negatively the media would react if Barry Trotz coached a Canadian team instead.

I mean sure, nobody knows! But Who would think that Nashville would not score for over 5 periods? I didn't!

Not Montreal, Were not evolved North Americans yet! but I don't think any of the other 6 Canadian teams would mind him.

And who would think the Habs were going to beat the best offensive team and then the stanley cup defending champ two years ago?

Goalies can be the absolute difference maker. Nashville hasn't not score in over 5 periods from lack of trying or chances. Mike Smith has made remarkable saves. Not only him, but Phoenix's defense has done a great job collapsing in front. Despite their strong defensive coverage though, Nashville still got plenty of chances and the series would be different if Smith wasn't playing like Conn Smythe material.

Your face when... The Habs made it further than this, as the 8th seed, only three years ago.

Man, these POs have been nothing short of nuts.
Philly-Pitts chaotic series, absolutely ridiculous display of talent up front with nothing on the back end.
Stanley Cup champs upset, eliminated in 1st round.
LA beats the top seed in 5. LA beast the 2nd seed in 4.
Nashville gets outed in 5.
NJ will have the chance to out Philly in 5 as well.

Seriously, it's been crazy.

Not sure what this has anything to do with me saying Smith has been playing Conn Smythe like.

I guess we didn't build the predators quite well enough with all that high end talent we gifted them. Is the love affair with that team over now?

LA beats the top seed in 5. LA beast the 2nd seed in 4. Vancouver choked, big shocker. Elliot collapses.
Nashville gets outed in 5. The only thing crazy abut this is the rift bringing in Akost and radulov created. They could have had a great run but they got greedy
NJ will have the chance to out Philly in 5 as well. Bryz is...well bryz, how he got that contract is as unfathomable as the universe.

Seriously, it's been crazy.
Not really, outside of the flyers/pens it has been bland.

Wow, very insightful comments, I really couldn't come up with ''Vancouver choked. Elliott collapsed. Bryz is bryz...'' on my own. Thanks.

I'm sure these POs are going exactly as you foresaw.

This proves the amazing parity the NHL has become and it proves you have a chance to win the cup as long as you clinch a playoffs spot.. Everything is possible..

I expected Nashville to get the axe, but the Coyotes weren't the team I was expecting to thrust and twist the dagger into them. I thought a team like the Kings would do it(even prior to the Kings' unexpected upset of Vancouver) because the Kings abso-****ing-lutely dominated the Preds in puck possession even with the Preds squeaking out a couple regular season wins.

Thank goodness I'm such an insecure person.
