It looks as though 09-10 was the exception to the rule. Last year Boston won mainly because of Thomas and Luongo was very good until the final. This year whoever makes the final 4 will have to thank their goalie. In a way it's very good news for us with Price.

... As long as Price elevate his game more...

This year, he was not that impressive. When you watch Quick, Smith and Lundqvist, you can see how quick and agile they are.

Hopefully Bergevin and the next head coach will find him a new goalie coach.

Quick has to be that agile because he's not as a big. Lundqvist is quite the same.

Smith is overachieving and he is anything but agile and quick.

Price's lateral movement for a big goalie is second to none. He is very quick, agile and athletic.

I don't think it's the golaie coach as much as our defensive play 5 on 5 was subpar last year. I don't think he had as good a year as 10-11 but it was in large part on having a young and at times struggling defense.

He is as quick and agile as those guys and bigger.

I don't know how Lundqvist manages to remain so deep in his net, and have that success still in this day. Does that make him the best "pure" goalie in the game today?

Knowing he doesn't use angles like 99% of goalies are taught, or come three feet out of his crease like Thomas. He must have the quickest reactions in the league to make up for it.

Since Devils won, our other picks all basically move up one spot. There's no way they don't forfeit that 1st.

Man, did you even watch any games this year? Price was great this year, he was a workhorse for a team that had an inexperienced defence, and for a lot of the year an inexperienced coach.

And he still put up solid numbers.

Good lord, amazes me some of the stuff people say.

I thought as soon as they won in the first round they'd sacrifice that pick. With Broduer being 40 and Parise possibly leaving they could come back to earth in a bad way next year.No way they'd risk having to be in the 4th year and give up a great pick. That 32nd pick is pretty sweet for the Habs.

They will also have Nashville's pick which I believe will be the 51st pick.

3rd, 32nd, 51st, 62nd.

Then next year they have 3 2nd round picks...including Calgary's pick which could very well be a top 40.

There's a big light in the tunnel folks!
I love how people talk about how "great" Quick is, and ignore how deep that defence is. And ignore how low quality chances he faces on a nightly basis. Truly amazing.

Hmm I disagree he faces a lot of tough shots from the games I've seen. He's practically unbeatable on breakaways.

I think their D is okay:
Drew Doughty
Willie Mitchell
Rob Scuderi
Slava Voynov
Matt Greene
Alec Martinez

But what I think is underrated is their forwards. Having both Kopitar and Richards going is a huge. They have 2 first lines that are great on all sides of the ice and can match up against any line.

He really doesn't face many tough shots at all, and the defence is great at boxing guys out and clearing rebounds as well. Lets also note that he's faced a team that was missing its best scorer and 2nd best scorer had a completely buggered up shoulder, then he faced a team that was never that good offensively and didn't have its' best goalie.

Mitchell, Scuderi and Green are fantastic defenisve d-men. Doughty is solid defensively and Voynov and Martinez are both solid as well.

Tehy also have great 2 way forwards as well, yes.

Quick is very good, you don`t get his stats just by playing behind a good defence, he`s talented and competitive. The good defence comes in handy when it`s time to clear the crease from pucks and other players and prevent rebounds or high shots when Quick is doing those crazy splits. The job of the defence should be covering for the goalie in the areas where he`s weaker.

In Anaheim? By centering a second line behind the overrated Ryan Getzlaf?

The 4min of ridiculousness may be a deciding factor in this series.
