the only thing that gets me to tune in is the proximity/rivalry of the two teams

man, is this painful to watch

Are all of you ''parity is awesome since anyone can win'' type having fun watching this?

Boring series happened every year since, forever.

I was just laughing at Bickel after the Clarkson goal. On the faceoff just before that, he was trying to start something with Clarkson and was yelling to him all the shift, ending that being out of position on the goal.

Just stupid play by him. I was not surprised to see him bench for the rest of the game.

We really need to get Robinson away from New Jersy.

Watching Tortellini jump up and down whining and crying about every call makes you want someone as calm and cool as Robinson. He can keep the D calm and focused compared to a coach constantly flipping his wig.

Yeah, because boring series don't happen when it's the same two teams playing each other every year like in basketball.

I am getting this weird feeling the assistant coach (Robinson) would be more important than the head coach for us.

Btw if you guys haven't heard, Robinson denied being interested in a coaching position with the Habs:

Quote:
Devils assistant coach and 2000 Cup-winning head coach Larry Robinson vehemently ripped a report suggesting he is interested in joining the new Montreal regime, saying that comments attributed to an agent, whom he called a friend, were five years old and that there has been no such contact or interest. Robinson won seven Cups as a Habs’ immortal defenseman . . . The Devils have won their last four trips to the semifinals after losing their first two in 1988 (Bruins) and 1994 (Rangers). The Devils stand 16-9 in last four semis, and 22-17 in all six.

Well considering his team is 3 wins away from a SC appearance, what else would he say?

He's a class act and would never detract or distract from the task at hand. Which is winning.

Typical Habs fans! Overating a player when he's on our team and underrating him as soon as he plays with another team.

The guy has the most block shots and hits on his team. Playing 20 minutes and more a game. Big and tough. But no! Not good enough to play on the almighty superstars stacked up Habs team.

Anyway, at least the self-destruction Gainey/Gauthier era is over. Can you imagine this team with McDonag and O'Byrne...
16 minutes per game, but w/e. close enough

nobody gave a **** when he was traded and he was riding the pressbox more often than he was on the ice. now he's a bottom-pairing guy on a ****** team. stop it with the ****ing o'byrne ******** already

And that's the thing, there's plenty of O'byrnes in the NHL. The management can be faulted for not getting one to fill that role, not because O'byrne is anything more than a filler. McDonagh (who I now hate, because I'm sick of hearing of and seeing how good he is) he is not.

Chances are one of Ellis and Tinordi, if not both, will be notably better than O'byrne ever was or ever will be.
I'm trying to comfort everyone:

McDo turned out excellent, but we can replace him.
Gomer was absolute *****, but he will be gone.

Therefore: Gomer **** + no excellent Mcdo = 3rd pick this summer.

Therefore: The trade ends up being McDo for Gomer and 3rd overall pick this year.

In fact, you could call it our first tanking move.

This comforts me. I hope it comforts you.

At the same time his team is in the ECF, not the right time for anyone to ask him questions about the Habs or his future.

Really hoping the Rags get eliminated soon. 94 Rangers were such a pleasure to watch but the current team just refuses to forecheck. How sad is it when people think the Devils are the more exciting team?

Sort of like Kirk Muller. The guy was always giving praise to the players and talking to them when they made mistakes and how to adjust.

We barely heard from him when he was GM. He could be dead for all we know.

In fact he could have been for years and they just didn't find out

It would be dumb for him to say anything else right now, his team is in the Semi Finals and I doubt they need a distraction for an assistant coach trying to leave.
